Professors-Teachers: Youth Nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize

NOBEL LAUREATES, 11 Jan 2021

Fredrik S. Heffermehl | Nobel Peace Prize Watch – TRANSCEND Media Service

The Nobel Peace Prize is important to young people, it is about their future. But they cannot nominate. We try to make the selection process transparent and include a wider circle. Therefore, we have launched the Youth nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. Individuals or groups aged between 15 and 25 may send us nominations. If they comply with and serve the specific peace idea of Alfred Nobel, we will forward them to the Nobel committee. We hope teachers will inform suitable students, or engage the class in a project. Further information: See http://www.nobelwill.org/index.html?tab=10 for examples and our guidelines and send nominations that comply with Nobel´s purpose to: nominations@nobelwill.org by Jan 28, 2021, marked “Youth nomination”.

The award committee appreciates short and concise nominations and we would recommend an email that opens roughly as follows: “To promote Nobel’s idea of a peaceful world order, above all through global cooperation on disarmament, international law and strong international institutions, I hereby nominate … (name, country, main reason/contribution), 50 words.” Then further arguments and documentation of merits, each of a maximum length of 200 words.

  1. […] NPPW has also started helping young people to nominate. Teachers and youth workers are asked if they would like to tell anyone 15-25 about this option? More information here: https://www.transcend.org/tms/2021/01/professors-teachers-youth-nominations-for-the-nobel-peace-priz…” […]
