We must make our actions as teachers in the classroom coherent, addressing the small conflicts of everyday life in the most effective and least violent manner possible , and as teachers of History, selecting the content, emphasizing moments of creation, understanding, social progress more than wars, confrontation and destruction, and on the other hand to work with this content using methodologies that promote essential personal skills for peaceful citizenship through dialogue, critical analysis, the contrasting of views, freedom of expression, creativity, imagination.

As Prof. Galtung says, sometimes it is necessary to touch the bottom, to lose all, in order to advance on the correct path of a solution: a path that is increasingly satisfactory for both parties, rather than for a single one, which is what happens if we move in the diagonal of the confrontation. Starting from “everyone loses” we can move towards the “win win” progressively seeking the achievement of the maximum legitimate objectives of each party.

Si la independència és un fi en si mateix, poc es pot parlar ja. Si, de l’altra banda, no es reconeixen els drets històrics d’autogovern al màxim nivell, tampoc el diàleg serà possible. Però entre les dues posicions extremes hi ha un ample marge de possibilitats per aconseguir un acord de convivència, almenys per al segle XXI. Cal intentar-ho, directament o amb mediadors experimentats que els condueixin si no els és possible sols.

Si la independencia es un fin en sí mismo, poco se puede hablar ya. Si, por el otro lado, no se reconocen los derechos históricos de autogobierno al máximo nivel, tampoco el diálogo será posible. Pero entre las dos posiciones extremas hay un amplio margen de posibilidades para lograr un acuerdo de convivencia, al menos para el siglo XXI. Merece la pena intentarlo, directamente o con mediadores experimentados que les conduzcan si no les es posible solos.
