Putin addressed President Obama: “Your country sent its army to Afghanistan in 2001 on the excuse that you are fighting the Taliban, al-Qa‘idah and other fundamentalist terrorists accused of the 9/11 attacks. And here you are making alliance with them in Syria and declaring your desire to send them weapons. And in Qatar, where you have your biggest base in the region, the Taliban are opening a representative office.”
