Imagine\u00a0if we were to plant these\u00a0<em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ceedsofpeace.org\/\" >Ceeds\u00a0of Peace<\/a><\/em> around children and youth, and\u00a0cultivate these skills in the\u00a0adults who interact with them at\u00a0home, in schools, and in the community, wrapping them in the practice of these skills every day?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Maya Soetoro-Ng, Ph.D. is the founder of <\/em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ceedsofpeace.org\/\" >Ceeds of Peace<\/a><em>. <strong>She <\/strong><\/em><strong><em>is the maternal half-sister of the 44th U.S. President Barack Obama<\/em><\/strong><em> and <\/em><em>has a rich background in global and multicultural education. Maya currently holds the position of Director of Community Outreach and Global Learning at University of Hawai\u2019i\u2019s Matsunaga Institute for Peace. She has an MA in Secondary Education from New York University, and a PhD in Multicultural Education from the University of Hawai\u2018i. Maya has taught and developed curriculum at a progressive public middle school in New York City, and has also taught at the UH Laboratory High School and La Pietra Hawai \u2018i School for Girls, where she facilitated classes on world cultures, U.S. history and the constitution; and Peacemakers, a course she designed to teach the power of nonviolence.
