A man had frequent nightmares. Someone was hiding under his bed what made him wake up sweating and trembling every night. He called a psychotherapist that someone recommended and asked for help. The psychotherapist said,<\/p>\n

“I believe I can help you, but it depends on you how many sessions it will take; each session will cost you \u20ac200.”<\/p>\n

A week later the man met the psychotherapist on the street and told him,<\/p>\n

“I have found a solution to my problem for only $20.”<\/p>\n

The psychotherapist was intrigued and asked how. The man explained,<\/p>\n

“I hired a carpenter for $20 to saw off the legs of my bed.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Dietrich Fischer (1941-2015) from M\u00fcnsingen, Switzerland, got a Licentiate in Mathematics from the University of Bern 1968 and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from New York University 1976. 1986-88 he was a MacArthur Fellow in International Peace and Security at Princeton University. He has taught mathematics, computer science, economics and peace studies at various universities and been a consultant to the United Nations. He was co-founder, with Johan Galtung, of the <\/em>TRANSCEND Network for Peace, Development and Environment<\/a> in 1993<\/em>.<\/p>\n
