However, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.keeptalkinggreece.com\/2018\/03\/27\/skripal-russian-diplomats-eu\/\" >as KeepTalkingGreece reports<\/a>, some countries refuse to join this remarkable show of solidarity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/russian-diplomats-expel-660x330-map-europe-russia.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-108835\" src=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/russian-diplomats-expel-660x330-map-europe-russia.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/russian-diplomats-expel-660x330-map-europe-russia.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/russian-diplomats-expel-660x330-map-europe-russia-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><strong>Greece, Austria, Portugal and New Zealand are among the countries with no intention to expel Russian diplomats.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More than 20 countries have aligned with the UK, expelling more than 100 diplomats.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Russia vowed to retaliate to the \u201cprovocative gesture\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Russia denies any role in the attack on Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, in Salisbury, southern England. The pair remain in a critical but stable condition in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>EU leaders agreed last week it was <strong>highly likely Russia was behind the nerve-agent poisoning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mrs May said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cPresident Putin\u2019s regime is carrying out acts of aggression against our shared values and interests within our continent and beyond. And as a sovereign European democracy, the United Kingdom will stand shoulder to shoulder with the EU and with Nato to face down these threats together.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Russian foreign ministry said the moves demonstrated a continuation of a \u201cconfrontational path\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>\u201cIt goes without saying that this unfriendly act by this group of countries will not go without notice and we will react to it,\u201d <\/em><\/strong>its statement said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-43545565\" >Countries<\/a>\u00a0announced they were making the same move in solidarity on Monday.
