12 Apr 2018 – <\/em>A number of British forces have been captured by the Syrian army during military operations in Eastern Ghouta, according to reports by local media.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0a report by\u00a0Al-Mayadeen news channel cited by\u00a0Fars News, a number of\u00a0British troops have been captured during\u00a0the Syrian Arab Army’s operations in\u00a0Eastern Ghouta.<\/p>\n

They are believed to\u00a0be a part of\u00a0international military forces deployed in\u00a0the region to\u00a0launch a ground assault in\u00a0Damascus in\u00a0cooperation with\u00a0the US. According to\u00a0the report, the US and other NATO countries, Jordan and Israel planned to\u00a0launch attacks from\u00a0several fronts, but\u00a0the plot failed as\u00a0Syrian armed forces made a series of\u00a0rapid advances in\u00a0Eastern Ghouta in\u00a0March. The plot allegedly involved massive airstrikes by\u00a0US and Israeli planes that were supposed to\u00a0pave the way for\u00a0ground forces.<\/p>\n

“After the plot was disclosed, the Syrian-Russian military commanders started operations in\u00a0Eastern Ghouta to\u00a0repel it,” the sources cited by\u00a0Al-Mayadeen and Fars said.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Since the plot failed due to\u00a0rapid advances by\u00a0the Syrian army, the US cancelled all operations planned for\u00a0these foreign forces and ordered an immediate withdrawal from\u00a0Eastern Ghouta through\u00a0the eastern suburbs of\u00a0Damascus, including Douma.<\/p>\n

The US and Turkey sought to\u00a0rescue foreign “militants and agents operating for\u00a0Israel, Jordan and NATO,” now trapped in\u00a0Ghouta, and move them to\u00a0Idlib, the source says.<\/p>\n

The Turkish initiative to\u00a0help with\u00a0the evacuation of\u00a0Nusra Front terrorists from\u00a0Ghouta has reportedly been a coverup for “special foreign forces that were among\u00a0the ranks of\u00a0the Al-Qaeda-affiliated” Nusra front terror organization.<\/p>\n

“Therefore, the US has ordered Jaysh al-Islam, Faylaq al-Rahman and other terrorist groups to\u00a0allow the evacuation of\u00a0civilians from\u00a0Eastern Ghouta to\u00a0army-held regions in\u00a0a bid to\u00a0provide the ground for\u00a0these foreign agents to\u00a0also leave Ghouta in\u00a0disguise and enable the Turkish intelligence service to\u00a0send them to\u00a0specified regions in\u00a0At-Tanf and northern Syria which are under\u00a0the control of\u00a0US troops,” the source said.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
