{"id":109840,"date":"2018-04-23T12:01:23","date_gmt":"2018-04-23T11:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/?p=109840"},"modified":"2018-04-22T15:48:19","modified_gmt":"2018-04-22T14:48:19","slug":"in-a-time-of-endless-wars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/2018\/04\/in-a-time-of-endless-wars\/","title":{"rendered":"In a Time of Endless Wars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I write for the men of a thousand years hence\u2014<br \/>\nand the women\u2014and their healthy children.<br \/>\nAnd\u2026, if you are suffering, if night is day<br \/>\nand day is night,<br \/>\nI will drink the cup of despair with you,<br \/>\nfor I have tasted of despair.<\/p>\n<p>But\u2026, if you are happy and wise,<br \/>\nmay my words animate your limbs;<br \/>\nmay you dance\u2014as I danced<br \/>\nin the spring of my days.<br \/>\nIn your dancing, my words will come again<br \/>\neven as they came from the Old Ones long ago<br \/>\nto fill my cup with dreams and desire.<\/p>\n<p>From the grunting in the caves,<br \/>\nfrom the maker of the paintings<br \/>\nand the reaping praise of critics&#8211;<br \/>\nthese words, crystallized over lifetimes,<br \/>\nwill come again\u2026.<br \/>\nOutside, howling winds;
