I have grown into silence<\/p>\n

Perhaps the walks I stole,
\nEver slower, perhaps
\nThe far fold where there is
\nNeither sea nor sky,
\nThe scattered shells and rocks
\nPolished and thrown at our feet<\/p>\n

I bend\u00a0 to pluck them,
\nBrush their surfaces and
\nGently toss or lay them back:
\nTheir perfect patterns,
\nSheen, their curvatures<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t explain<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when I will sit,
\nThere is enough of air and spray,
\nThe changing heedless forms
\nNimble and great around,
\nThat\u2019s when I feel most keen:
\nTo think that every storm
\nEventually becomes the softest breeze
