She is also a senior adviser to the Chertoff Group, founded by Michael Chertoff, a Homeland Security secretary in the George W. Bush administration, and has worked with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. One of her specialties is combating extremists.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>[The Washington Institute for Near East Policy was <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/mj-rosenberg\/does-pbs-know-that-washin_b_533808.html\" >founded by AIPAC<\/a>. See <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/rightweb.irc-online.org\/profile\/foundation_for_defense_of_democracies\/\" >this<\/a> for information about FDD.]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cShe has also worked with the pro-Israel community\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clevelandjewishnews.com\/news\/local_news\/israel-bonds-cleveland-women-s-division-raises-million\/article_f131ce50-5c41-11e7-a7da-5fc768bbc6ce.html\" >helping<\/a>\u00a0to raise money for Israel Bonds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRavich does not require confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso Tuesday, Jeffrey Gunter, a dermatologist from Los Angeles, was nominated as the ambassador to Iceland. Gunter, a board member of the Republican Jewish Coalition, must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ravich reveals cyber project to protect Israel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At a speech before the Israel Bonds Cleveland Women\u2019s Division on June 21, 2017, Ravich described plans to create an Israel-U.S.-UK cooperative cyber project.<\/p>\n<p>Ravich explained that this project would be used to address the many European nations that have been supporting the boycott movement against Israel. The boycott movement, known as <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bdsmovement.net\/\" >BDS<\/a>, is an attempt to use financial pressure to cause Israel to end its human rights abuses and violations of international law.<\/p>\n<p>Ravich said that she had briefed the Senate about the cyber project, created by the Foundation for Democracies, and said \u201cwe have been going back and forth to Israel and back and forth to the UK, kind of pushing this along.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ravich said they are calling it\u00a0a \u201ccooperative relationship,\u201d rather than \u201can alliance, because that gets people\u00a0a little upset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The project would create a \u201ccyber umbrella\u201d that would provide mechanisms to protect countries from cyber threats. Ravich said that countries that want to \u201cisolate Israel,\u201d i.e. require it to adhere to international law, would be excluded.<\/p>\n<p>Ravich explained that countries would be told they\u00a0could \u201clive under the cyber umbrella, which the United States, the UK, and Israel can help you provide, or you can agree to abide by the BDS movement. But you can\u2019t have it both ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said that this was critically important and stated: \u201cit\u2019s a conversation, frankly, that I think groups like this, groups that are investors in Israel through Israel Bonds, can actually have a voice in saying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In her June 13, 2017\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.meritalk.com\/articles\/feds-lack-cyber-leadership-nation-state-threats-samantha-ravich\/\" >briefing to the Senate about the project<\/a>,\u00a0Ravich did not reveal the plan to use the cyber project to counter international efforts in support of Palestinian rights.<\/p>\n<p>She did, however, recommend:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI like the idea that there could be a very senior person in the White House driving this in the inner agency, interacting with the private sector, doing some things internationally. But it would have to be someone who has gravitas, has clout, and also who has the backing of the president.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On June 27, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.meritalk.com\/articles\/u-s-announces-partnership-with-israel-on-cybersecurity\/\" >U.S. announced a partnership with Israel on cybersecurity<\/a>. (More information <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefings-statements\/remarks-homeland-security-advisor-thomas-p-bossert-cyber-week-2017\/\" >here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>At the Israel bonds luncheon where Ravich spoke, it was announced that $1.49 million had already been raised, halfway through its campaign. Ravich\u2019s speech is below, and below that is information about the Intelligence Advisory Board and Chair Stephen Feinberg.<\/p>\n<p>httpv:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MlXWqWUNN2c<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intelligence advisory board &amp; Chair Stephen Feinberg<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The full name of the board is the President\u2019s Intelligence Advisory Board (PIAB); according to its <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/piab\/\" >website<\/a>, It is is \u201can independent element within the Executive Office of the President.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The website states that throughout its 60-year history,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cthe Board has closely guarded its special status by making every effort to ensure the strict confidentiality of its deliberations and communications, and the objectivity of its advice. As a result, the Board has had immense and long-lasting impacts on the structure, management, and operations of U.S. intelligence.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The chair of the Intelligence Advisory Board is\u00a0Stephen A. Feinberg, a hedge fund billionaire,\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/business\/currency\/stephen-feinberg-the-private-military-contractor-who-has-trumps-ear\" >military contractor,<\/a>\u00a0and gun manufacturer with a penchant for being\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2006\/12\/24\/business\/yourmoney\/24hedge.html?pagewanted=3&amp;ref=&amp;_r=0\/\" >secretive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_117641\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Stephen.Feinberg.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-117641\" class=\"wp-image-117641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Stephen.Feinberg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Stephen.Feinberg.jpg 553w, https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Stephen.Feinberg-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-117641\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stephen Feinberg at Down Jones conference in 2011<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Feinberg is the co-founder and CEO of a hedge fund named Cerberus Capital, named for the many-headed dog in Greek mythology that guards the entrance to hell.<\/p>\n<p>In 2006 the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20180824134350\/https:\/www.nytimes.com\/2006\/12\/24\/business\/yourmoney\/24hedge.html?pagewanted=3&amp;ref=&amp;_r=0\/\" ><em>New York Times<\/em><\/a> reported: \u201cVery little is known about Cerberus beyond its intimidating name \u2014 a reflection of how greatly Wall Street players like Mr. Feinberg value secrecy, and the pivotal role stealth plays in amassing and deploying the vast pools of capital that private equity investors control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the <em>Times<\/em>: \u201cCourt documents detail legal brawls in which investors accuse Cerberus of orchestrating secretive deals that transgressed legal and ethical boundaries, accusations the firm denies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Feinberg\u2019s underlings include former Treasury Secretary John W. Snow and former Vice President Dan Quayle.\u201d Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld was an <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.haaretz.com\/1.4882172\" >investor<\/a> in 2001.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.haaretz.com\/1.4882172\" >Ha\u2019aretz<\/a> reports: \u201cFeinberg keeps a low profile. He makes himself scarce around photographers, and sends underlings like Cerberus chair Dan Quayle to sign his deals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2005 Feinberg submitted the winning bid for Israel\u2019s Bank Leumi, an international bank headquartered in Israel. He appears to have sold it in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.haaretz.com\/1.5069063\" >2009<\/a>. (An individual named<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/vivian-feinberg-31a70812\/\" > Vivan Feinberg<\/a> is currently First Vice President of Bank Leumi USA.; it\u2019s unknown if she\u2019s related to Stephen.)<\/p>\n<p>Cerberus is the parent company of the infamous military contractor DynCorp, accused of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.haaretz.com\/1.4882172\" >war profiteering<\/a>. A\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/business\/currency\/stephen-feinberg-the-private-military-contractor-who-has-trumps-ear\" ><em>New Yorker<\/em> <\/a>profile on Feinberg reports: \u201cThrough DynCorp, Feinberg already controls one of the largest military contractors in the U.S.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2018-05-11\/trump-chooses-cerberus-s-feinberg-to-lead-spy-advisory-panel\" >Bloomberg<\/a> reports that DynCorp \u201creceives the vast majority of its $3 billion in annual revenues from the federal government.\u201d DynCorp has been a major private contractor in both Iraq and Afghanistan.\u00a0Read more <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/lobelog.com\/why-feinberg-and-prince-are-offensive\/\" >here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.allgov.com\/news\/top-stories\/chairman-of-the-presidents-intelligence-advisory-board-who-is-steve-feinberg-180527?news=860474\" >AllGov website<\/a> reports: \u201cFeinberg has trained in marksmanship with former military snipers. He also set up a private \u2018military base\u2019 outside Memphis. Tier 1 Group, owned by Cerberus, is an 800-acre facility complete with a mock Afghan village and a tactical driving course. Caleb McDonald\/Released).<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Feinberg donated to Trump &amp; to Schumer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AllGov reports that in addition to supporting Republicans, Feinberg donated to Democratic leader Chuck Schumer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFeinberg backed Jeb Bush early in the 2016 election cycle, but later gave almost $1.5 million to the pro-Trump Rebuild America political action committee. He gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Republican National Committee.
