The Evolution of Homo Sapiens<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In evolutionary history
\nwe know that continuity and change are constant.
\nDarwin<\/a> discovered this on his research ship Beagle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We also know that during the Scientific Revolution<\/a> of the 17th Century
\nRen\u00e9 Descartes<\/a> proclaimed the First Principle of Certainty<\/a>, saying
\n\u2018I think therefore I am.\u2019
\nMeaning\u2014\u2018I am, I exist\u2019.<\/p>\n

As well, we know that wisdom people for centuries
\nhave sought to create a world without wars.
\nWe\u2019ve seen futile attempts by politicians of all stripes
\nproclaim \u2018this war is the end of all wars\u2019.<\/p>\n

Yet violence and wars \u2014 corporate murder \u2014
\ncontinue to cause havoc with
\nthe use of weapons of mass destruction, regime change,
\nand all kinds of human indignities. Countless victims suffer.<\/p>\n

Today we need a new discussion on human development \u2014
\na discussion that would lead to humane behaviour,
\nsuch as envisaged by the late Glenn D. Paige<\/a> of Hawaii
\non the nonkilling society \u2014 the responsibility not to kill and the right not to be killed.<\/p>\n

We need to talk about something simple, yet profound \u2014
\nthe power of love comes to mind
\nas penned in the 1800s by Tolstoy<\/a>, author of War and Peace<\/a>.
\nWe need to discover the merits
\nof the Inner Spirit<\/a>
\nand apply it to our Charter of Love and Compassion for the living.<\/p>\n

Friends, my fellow homo sapiens<\/a>,
\nit\u2019s time to build a new world order
\nthat will save us from the scourge of wars and
\ngive a supportive structure to us, to our children and to future generations.
\nIt is time to upgrade Descartes\u2019 maxim to a new authentic identity:
\nI LOVE THEREFORE I AM!<\/p>\n

The Inner Spirit<\/a> of love opens the way
\nto a new road of common humanity.
\nSo let\u2019s remember the new charter of life:
\n\u2018I love therefore I am<\/strong>\u2019!<\/p>\n
