before.<br \/>\nBecause, I assure you, this does not end well.<br \/>\nNeither Nature nor Nurture can save us.<br \/>\nBecause we have murdered Nature.<\/p>\n<p>Because we are peasants in a land of thieves.<br \/>\nBecause we are beyond consolation.<br \/>\nBecause beauty is sold into whoredom.<br \/>\nBecause the coin of the realm is a slug.<\/p>\n<p>Because we pray, but have forgotten how.<br \/>\nBecause we \u201cfind,\u201d but dare no longer seek.<br \/>\nBecause we enslave\u2014others and ourselves.<br \/>\nBowing to fools, we shackle the wise.<\/p>\n<p>The Children of Light flutter\u2026and depart,<br \/>\nLeaving their questions in the quivering air:<br \/>\n\u201cWhy bring us into this pinwheel of sorrow?<br \/>\nWasn\u2019t it better not to be
