COVID Early Treatment Successes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>1 Oct 2020 &#8211; <\/em>In recent weeks, several more covid early treatment successes based on zinc, vitamin D and HCQ have been reported:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Zinc<\/strong>: A <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/news\/2020-09-zinc-blood-death-patients-covid-.html\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spanish study<\/a> presented at the ECCVID conference found that a low plasma zinc level (below 50 mcg\/dl) increased the risk of in-hospital covid death <strong>by 130%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vitamin D<\/strong>: A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0960076020302764\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spanish RCT<\/a> found that high-dose vitamin D reduced the risk of requiring intensive care <strong>by 96%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>HCQ<\/strong>: A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S1201971220321755\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dutch study<\/a> published in the <em>International Journal of Infectious Diseases<\/em> found a <strong>53% risk reduction<\/strong> in terms of ICU admission and ventilation of covid patients.<\/li>\n<li><strong>HCQ<\/strong>: A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medrxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2020.09.30.20204693v1\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">US meta-study (preprint)<\/a> found a <strong>24% risk reduction<\/strong> in covid early treatment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>HCQ<\/strong>: A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medrxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2020.09.29.20203869v1\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spanish meta-study (preprint)<\/a> found a <strong>20% risk reduction<\/strong> in covid prophylaxis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>HCQ<\/strong>: A <a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/europace\/advance-article\/doi\/10.1093\/europace\/euaa216\/5910968\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">study by the European Heart Rhythm Association<\/a> found that <strong>HCQ is safe<\/strong> for covid patients in every clinical setting (confirming covid-19<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The following diagram shows that among high-powered HCQ trials, only the <strong>WHO Recovery UK trial<\/strong> \u2013 which used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.francesoir.fr\/politique-monde\/oxford-recovery-et-solidarity-overdosage-two-clinical-trials-acts-considered\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lethal overdoses<\/a>
