{"id":173010,"date":"2020-11-23T12:01:14","date_gmt":"2020-11-23T12:01:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/?p=173010"},"modified":"2020-11-22T03:43:32","modified_gmt":"2020-11-22T03:43:32","slug":"heart-as-a-vagabond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/2020\/11\/heart-as-a-vagabond\/","title":{"rendered":"Heart as a Vagabond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A person can be a Vagabond<br \/>\nHe roams hither and thither<br \/>\nHe has no place to call it a home<br \/>\nHe has no roots, be it summer or winter<\/p>\n<p>In Hindi we have a song<br \/>\n<em>Hai apna dil to Awaara\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>N jaane kis pe aayega<\/em><br \/>\n(My heart is a vagabond,<br \/>\nOne knows not where it will land)<\/p>\n<p>Do we have a heart chained to its body<br \/>\nOr\u00a0has it become bond-less<br \/>\nIt likes someone and loses its chains<br \/>\nIt basks in its freedom, it sings in happiness<\/p>\n<p>Who in the world does not like freedom<br \/>\nCall it democracy, call it a just kingdom<br \/>\nGood if we find some transport &#8211; horse or a camel<br \/>\nElse walk all the way till your feet turn into gravel<\/p>\n<p>The heart knows only to pump red blood<br \/>\nWhen it sees another, it begins to pump faster<br \/>\nIs this good for its robust master<br \/>\nBut going too fast can lead to disaster<\/p>\n<p>The mind knows not why the heart loses a beat<br \/>\nSeeing another one it feels upbeat<br \/>\nIt smiles shamelessly, it wants to greet<br \/>\nSend a heart throb till the two hearts meet<br \/>\nSuch is the nature of the heart in heat.<\/p>\n<p>______________________________________________<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Ravi-P.-Bhatia-150x150-1-e1596524021103.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-166069\" src=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Ravi-P.-Bhatia-150x150-1-e1596524021103.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a><\/em><em>Dr Ravi P Bhatia is a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/\" >TRANSCEND Network for Peace Development Environment<\/a>, an<\/em> <em>educationist, Gandhian scholar and peace researcher.
