The International Women\u2019s Day was celebrated on 8 March
\nA day when they are supposed to proudly, bravely\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0march
\nHolding key positions in Banks, Corporate sector, Government office
\nMaking impassioned speeches for peace and gender justice
\nSo inspiring, so encouraging, so pleasing is their practice<\/p>\n

Kamala Harris, US Vice President, a symbol of Women\u2019s rights and values
\nOther women political leaders in New Zealand, Germany, India, Myanmar
\nNewspapers full of photos of rich women parading new clothes, footwear<\/p>\n

What about ordinary women, their deprivation, their drudgery
\nThey work as domestic helps, they work in building new dams and roads
\nChildren sitting next to their mothers, inhaling dust, eating leftovers<\/p>\n

Is International Women\u2019s Day suitable for these women
\nAsk them and they respond, \u2018We work Day and night, every day
\nWe need Women\u2019s Day every day, not one day in a year<\/p>\n

Men mistreat us, exploit us, abuse us
\nChildren need us, but we can\u2019t take care of them
\nWe can\u2019t give them enough food and care
\nSo they learn how to steal, do petty crimes
\nThey are beaten abused in front of our eyes
\nWe suffer seeing them weeping and crying<\/p>\n

Oh God, listen to us, we don\u2019t want a Day to wear new clothes
\nWe want peace, justice, harmony and end to our woes!
