{"id":18481,"date":"2012-04-09T12:00:08","date_gmt":"2012-04-09T11:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/?p=18481"},"modified":"2012-04-07T16:58:11","modified_gmt":"2012-04-07T15:58:11","slug":"tweeter-tweeter-little-star-how-i-wonder-what-you-are","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/2012\/04\/tweeter-tweeter-little-star-how-i-wonder-what-you-are\/","title":{"rendered":"Tweeter, Tweeter, Little Star: How I Wonder What You Are"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Produced in a period when use of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tweeting\" >Twitter<\/a> has become ever more significant in political processes and democratic protest.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is a simple adaptation of the widely popular English <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nursery_rhyme\" title=\"Nursery rhyme\" >nursery rhyme<\/a>\u00a0 <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Twinkle_Twinkle_Little_Star\" ><em>Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star<\/em><\/a>, whose original lyrics are from an early nineteenth-century English poem, <em>The Star<\/em> (1806) by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jane_Taylor_%28poet%29\" title=\"Jane   Taylor (poet)\" >Jane Taylor<\/a>. The relevance to Twitter and tweeters &#8212; and the process of tweeting &#8212; has been recognized by a number of bloggers who seemingly have chosen only to adapt the first line as it appears here. This is therefore an adaptation of the complete poem. The original text is from the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Twinkle_Twinkle_Little_Star\" ><em>Wikipedia entry<\/em><\/a>, which also offers an audio version &#8212; and indicates the subsequent use of the title, notably in films.
