Foreign and Commonwealth Office, flickr FORSEA<\/p><\/div>\n<p>2 Aug 2021 &#8211; A<em> poem written by a young Rohingya poet, from Rakhine state, living in Rangoon.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Stand by the innocent people<br \/>\nwho are seeking peace<br \/>\nStand for the refugee, people<br \/>\nwho are seeking freedom<br \/>\nIt\u2019s not because we are a minority<br \/>\nbut because we are a people, your fellow humans.<br \/>\nWe don\u2019t get<br \/>\nadequate shelter to live<br \/>\nsufficient meals to eat<br \/>\nenough clean water to drink<br \/>\nJust because we are Rohingyas.<\/p>\n<p>For Rohingyas, Refugees,<br \/>\nno school to enroll<br \/>\nno teacher to teach<br \/>\nno work to hold<br \/>\nno permit to go anywhere<br \/>\nWhat can we do in this prison called the Earth?<\/p>\n<p>Being Rohingya Refugees,<br \/>\nNo book to call our own<br \/>\nNo book read for my education<br \/>\nNo pen to write my black scarp<br \/>\nWhat we are facing day-to-day<br \/>\nNo paper to draw up our new plans<br \/>\nNo path to realize our goals<br \/>\nWhat kind of fucking life is this \u2013 for us?<\/p>\n<p>Being Rohingya Refugees,<br \/>\nNo solidarity hand to wipe my tears<br \/>\nWhen they form a great ocean<br \/>\nStill, no one hears our cries<br \/>\nBut crying again and again<br \/>\nJust to save my dignity.<\/p>\n<p>Being Rohingya Refugees,<br \/>\nNo government to defend us<br \/>\nEvery government accepts our genocide \u2013 any genocide<br \/>\nNo people understand our inner pains<br \/>\nNo world supports our going home.<\/p>\n<p>Being Rohingya Refugees,<br \/>\nNo decent clothes to wear<br \/>\nNo health care nor cure for physical illnesses.<br \/>\nRefugees resort to paracetamol<br \/>\nWhat a fucking life of ours!<\/p>\n<p>Being Rohingya Refugees,<br \/>\nIs there no Law for us?<br \/>\nAren\u2019t there Refugee Conventions?<br \/>\nWhy are we made to endure GENOCIDE,<br \/>\nAgain and again and again?<br \/>\nWhy are we made, for decades, to wait for Justice, a safe place of our own.<br \/>\nWhile our home country government make us<br \/>\nExist in IDP camps?<br \/>\nWe too are H-U-M-A-N-S like you all<br \/>\nBut denied humane treatment.<br \/>\nWhy\u2026..
