[Newspaper Reports: Having exhausted all options to end opposition to the Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant,\u00a0the Indian government now plans to get a peek into the protesters\u2019 minds and remove any fears with the help of\u00a0psychiatrists\u00a0from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore.]<\/em><\/p>\n

If you do feel like pulling your hair off
\nwhen they deprive you of your daily bread,
\nIf you do feel like screaming your head off
\nwhen they chip away at your wellbeing,
\nIf you do feel like kicking up a storm
\nwhen they deny your identity and freedom,
\nIf you do feel like raising a ruckus
\nwhen they wring you dry of life\u2019s very meaning,
\nIf you feel like grabbing one\u2019s throat
\nwhen they lay on the line your survival,
\nYou must be sick, my friend! I dare say,
\nyou could even be mentally ill.<\/p>\n

You could be suffering from reality distortion
\nfocusing on problems rather than solutions;
\nYou could be a victim of interpretative intention
\ndrawing negative conclusions and opposing authority;
\nYou are simply sick with establishmentophobia
\ndoubting leaders, heroes, scientists and such Noble Men.
\nIf the State signs nuclear deals with every country
\nand mines adivasi land and all over for Yellow Cake,
\nBuilds temples of technology, dumps the waste into the blue sea,
\nand manufactures \u201cSmiling Buddha\u201d products that protect us all\u2014
\nThey see Nuclear Nirvana but you cry foul for denuding with nukes,
\nand for this feeling of demoniac you need to see a psychiatrist!<\/p>\n

The prognosis for this establishmentophobia is rather mixed.
\nYou will continue to suspect your mother, the country, and Father, the State;
\nYou will distrust your Brothers and sisters, the Nobility and their sentry;
\nYou will disbelieve the fact that \u201croad to hell is indeed paved with good intentions.\u201d
\nYou like a lunatic lover will be hard to talk to and even harder to listen to;
\nYou\u2019ll become imponderable, impregnable, and simply impossible.
\nIf the diagnosis is rather bad and the prognosis even worse,
\nThe therapy is the worst, calling for continuous psychiatric care.
\nExplore the anatomical structure of your brain and examine its neurophysiology;
\nCheck your preference of Democritean knowing: through senses or intellect?
\nAnd put you on corrective behavior in a correctional facility or corporate hospital
\nFor distrusting the dual drive theory of nuking and nirvana to explain human fulfillment.<\/p>\n
