We&#39;re going to move to a situation where&#8230; we&#39;re going to LOCK OUT people who are not vaccinated&#8230;&quot; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TtNdA1nxwb\" >pic.twitter.com\/TtNdA1nxwb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Caldron Pool (@CaldronPool) <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CaldronPool\/status\/1434695188933328897?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" >September 6, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf you\u2019re making the choice not to get vaccinated, then you\u2019re making the wrong choice,\u201d<\/em> he added.<\/p>\n<p>Andrews did not say what kind of services and venues unvaccinated people would be locked out of, but he said that once Victoria reopens, <em>\u201cit\u2019s not going to be safe for people who are not vaccinated to be roaming around the place spreading the virus.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Despite Andrews\u2019 plan to beat Covid-19 by segregating the vaccinated and unvaccinated, current research holds that vaccinated people can still catch the virus and spread it to others, and case counts are rising while hospitalizations and deaths are still prevalent in even the most <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bmj.com\/bmj\/2021\/08\/25\/significant-proportions-of-people-admitted-to-hospital-or-dying-from-covid-19-in-england-are-vaccinated-this-doesnt-mean-the-vaccines-dont-work\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">widely vaccinated<\/a> countries worldwide. Publicans are reportedly on board with the idea, with one telling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2021-09-06\/daniel-andrews-vaccine-passport-double-vaccinated\/100435606\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ABC Australia<\/a> that <em>\u201cwhilst we certainly don\u2019t like the idea of turning anyone away, we need to do whatever it takes to ensure the survival of our business.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Australian government agreed earlier this summer to study the rollout of the passport scheme in Victoria, with a view to implementing it nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Andrews is not the only Australian premier to subject his people to gruelling lockdowns. In neighbouring New South Wales, Premier Gladys Berejiklian imposed a similarly rigorous lockdown last month, which is slated to run until at least the end of September and is currently being enforced by hundreds of police officers and soldiers on the streets of Sydney.
