Falk is the winner of the 2022 Global Policy Institute Book Award.\u00a0Dr. Falk\u00a0is a member of the Editorial Boards of\u00a0<em>The Nation<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The Progressive<\/em>, Chair of the Board of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, and a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/2022\/03\/the-root-problem-is-war-not-putin\/\" >TRANSCEND Network<\/a>. He is a former advisory board member of the World Federalist Institute and the American Movement for World Government. Dr. Falk acted as counsel to Ethiopia and Liberia in the famous South West Africa Cases (1965) that came before the International Court of Justice. During 1999\u20132000, Falk worked on the Independent International Commission on Kosovo. In 2008, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) appointed Falk to a six-year term as United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories. In that high-profile role, his critical findings on the repression and denial of human rights for Palestinians eventually led to him being banned from Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Dr.\u00a0Falk is now a Santa Barbara resident.
