{"id":208432,"date":"2022-04-04T12:01:01","date_gmt":"2022-04-04T11:01:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/?p=208432"},"modified":"2022-04-04T05:55:45","modified_gmt":"2022-04-04T04:55:45","slug":"sheath-the-sword-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/2022\/04\/sheath-the-sword-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheath the Sword Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Halt, Cease, and Retreat<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Halt the war Comrade if you can, and speak without the sword,<br \/>\nConvince if you can, sans the military horde.<br \/>\nThe world is ready to be with you on board,<br \/>\nIf only you can strike their heart with a musical chord.<\/p>\n<p>Cease the killings if you can, for we know it is not your resolution,<br \/>\nBut somehow you think it is the final solution,<br \/>\nAnd that is thy greatest delusion.<br \/>\nIf only you knew, your solution rests in your fusion,<\/p>\n<p>You would never have taken advantage of your freedom,<br \/>\nYou would have looked after your people as also, as your nearby kingdom.<br \/>\nThe powers you possess would have been used with wisdom<br \/>\nMaking wars and killings a phenomenon, that occurs only seldom.<\/p>\n<p>Stop, wait and look around and see the oozing blood,<br \/>\nFlowing through the soil and lying on the mud,<br \/>\nYou may find corpses of someone\u2019s or perhaps your own beloved,<br \/>\nThat will be soon flowing in the flood.<\/p>\n<p>What did you get from this, other than humanity\u2019s hate,<br \/>\nWhom did you conquer by your speedy killing rate,<br \/>\nThe innocent beings lost their lives and the land now, is in a barren state,<br \/>\nFor god\u2019s sake halt, cease, and wait, before it is too late.<\/p>\n<p>There are many as we know who have flouted the international peace,<br \/>\nIn various places at multiple instances, with great ease,<\/p>\n<p>We urge all of you with collective pleas<br \/>\nTo retreat from these killing sprees.<\/p>\n<p>______________________________________________<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Dr. Katyayani Singh is co-author of the book, <\/em>The Nonkilling Paradigm<em> (Springer, 2020).
