18 Apr 2022 – <\/em>From the outset of the COVID-19<\/a> pandemic, Norman Fenton<\/a>, Ph.D., could see health officials were misusing data and misleading the public.<\/p>\n

A professor of risk information management at Queen Mary University of London, Fenton is a mathematician who focuses on critical decision-making and quantifying uncertainty.<\/p>\n

Throughout the pandemic, he closely examined and criticized how officials used data to make decisions about lockdowns<\/a>, testing<\/a> and vaccines.<\/a><\/p>\n

Fenton spoke last week with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on \u201cRFK Jr. The Defender Podcast<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the COVID pandemic emerged, what kind of challenges did you specifically see?\u201d Kennedy asked Fenton.<\/p>\n

Fenton replied:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was clear I think from the start that most of the data that governments put out \u2014 not just the UK government, but most governments around the world \u2026 were kind of misleading because it was based on very easily manipulated statistics.\u201d<\/p>\n

This was true of both the nature of COVID itself and the vaccines, Fenton said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was an immediate rush to draw conclusions, which were sort of based on over-simplistic data on case numbers and deaths,\u201d he said.\u00a0 \u201c\u2026 the problem was that that data was very easily used by influencers and decision-makers to fit particular narratives that exaggerated the scale of the crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fenton\u2019s team published some of the first research providing more accurate estimates about the infection rate versus the fatality rate compared with official estimates he said were based on faulty data.<\/p>\n

The research showed the virus was more widespread than people assumed, but nowhere near as dangerous as was being claimed.<\/p>\n

Fenton also addressed issues with PCR tests<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although it was clear early on that a proper understanding of the virus depended on accurate diagnostic tests, he said, \u201cwe were initially led to believe that the PCR test was an accurate diagnostic test.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut later, of course, we discovered that wasn\u2019t true. And the impact of that has been catastrophic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kennedy agreed. \u201cThe magnitude of [the epidemic] was enormously and deceptively amplified by the misuse of the PCR test,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Fenton first came under attack in the summer and early fall of 2020, when he challenged how COVID deaths were classified, he said, and questioned the widespread testing of asymptomatic people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was when we were finding the real problems about the false positives and the scale of the false positives,\u201d Fenton said.<\/p>\n

Excessive testing led to \u201cabsolutely ridiculous decisions,\u201d he said, including new lockdowns.<\/p>\n

Information concerning deaths following COVID vaccination also was manipulated, Fenton said, as part of the official claim that the vaccine was the only way to keep people from becoming seriously ill and dying.<\/p>\n

Data adjusted to take into account misclassification show a peak in mortality shortly after vaccination, he said, cautioning:<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, of course, it could well be that these are people who are indeed immunosuppressed seriously. Also \u2026 the vaccination might just be bringing forward the death, which would\u2019ve occurred shortly afterward anyway.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut nevertheless, that\u2019s what we believe is there in the data, but is of course being hidden.\u201d<\/p>\n
