More than 100 of the world\u2019s most powerful people last week participated in the secretive Bilderberg Meetings in Washington, D.C. \u2014 while the media paid little attention.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

7 Jun 2022 – <\/em>A secretive meeting of more than 100 of the world\u2019s most powerful people just took place in a Washington, D.C. hotel behind closed doors and under tight security \u2014 while few reporters even took note<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bilderberg Meetings<\/a> attendees \u2014 including the director of the CIA, the secretary-general of NATO, European prime ministers, CEOs of pharmaceutical, energy and tech companies (including Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla<\/a>) \u2014 gathered June 2-5 to discuss global issues under an anonymity agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe participants take part as individuals rather than in any official capacity, and hence are not bound by the conventions of their office or by pre-agreed positions,\u201d the group\u2019s website states.<\/p>\n

On the agenda of the invitation-only summit were topics including \u201cDisruption of the Global Financial System,\u201d \u201cDisinformation,\u201d \u201cEnergy Security and Sustainability,\u201d \u201cPost Pandemic Health\u201d and \u201cFragmentation of Democratic Societies.\u201d<\/p>\n

As an element of its secrecy, the annual conference invokes the \u201cChatham House Rule<\/a>.\u201d In meetings held under this rule, \u201cparticipants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s) nor of any other participant may be revealed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Begun in 1954 by British and U.S. intelligence agencies, the Bilderberg conference has been held in various countries in Europe and North America, with a two-year gap during the COVID-19<\/a> pandemic.<\/p>\n

About 120 North American and European leaders from Big Tech<\/a>, Big Pharma<\/a>, industry, finance, the military, politics and academia are invited each year.<\/p>\n

Members of the media are not invited to report<\/a> on the event \u201cin order to encourage the highest level of openness and dialogue,\u201d according to the Bilderberg Meetings<\/a> website.<\/p>\n

Bilderberg participants and security were barred from disclosing the location of the meeting and from quoting anyone during the \u201coff-the-record sessions,\u201d according to journalist Max Blumenthal, who attempted to enter the Mandarin Oriental Hotel while the meetings were taking place.<\/p>\n
