Thousands of Haitians have taken to the streets to express their frustration and anger regarding the current social conditions on the island. Ariel Henry officially wrote to United Nations Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres that the UN should intervene militarily to bring the situation back to normal. Secretary-General Guterres on October 10 urged the international community to review deploying military forces to Haiti to resolve the crisis situation.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-48050 td-animation-stack-type0-2\" src=\"https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/a-person-with-a-beard-and-glasses-description-aut.jpeg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 309px) 100vw, 309px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/a-person-with-a-beard-and-glasses-description-aut.jpeg 474w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/a-person-with-a-beard-and-glasses-description-aut-300x246.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/a-person-with-a-beard-and-glasses-description-aut-150x123.jpeg 150w\" alt=\"A person with a beard and glasses\n\nDescription automatically generated with low confidence\" width=\"309\" height=\"253\" \/><figcaption>Ariel Henry [Source: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/edwidgelafleur.weebly.com\/actualiteacutes\/ariel-henry-un-premier-ministre-sans-president-prend-les-renes-dhaiti\" >edwidgelafleur.weebly.com<\/a>]<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>Haiti\u2019s Sovereignty Always Under Attack<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Shortly after the comments from Ariel Henry, the United States Government sent a delegation to Haiti supposedly to \u201creview\u201d Henry\u2019s request; on Monday October 17, the UN Security Council met to discuss a suggestion from the United States and Mexico to send in non-UN forces and later announced the imposition of sanctions against \u201cgang\u201d leaders. These developments are troublesome and the erroneously misleading narrative of \u201cgang violence\u201d is establishing an ideological justification for military intervention\u2014United States military intervention.<\/p>\n<p>The United States and Canada have delivered military machinery to Haiti under the suspicious title of \u201csecurity equipment\u201d; this \u201csecurity equipment\u201d includes armored and tactical vehicles to be used to strengthen the police to fight \u201ccriminal gangs.\u201d It is reported that, by October 28, Haiti will receive additional delivery of military machinery.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-48051 td-animation-stack-type0-2\" src=\"https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-4.jpeg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-4.jpeg 780w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-4-300x168.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-4-768x431.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-4-150x84.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-4-696x391.jpeg 696w\" alt=\"\" width=\"780\" height=\"438\" \/><figcaption><strong>[Source: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ieyenews.com\/violence-forces-haiti-to-cancel-carnival\/\" >ieyenews.com<\/a>]<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This request by Ariel Henry is tantamount to treason and Ant\u00f3nio Guterres\u2019s comments are not only suggestively racist but also an affront to the sovereignty and independence of Haiti. This is without question an infringement on International Law and the UN Charter regarding the non-interference in the domestic affairs of other countries. I strongly doubt that Guterres would make such a suggestion were Haiti a white country.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Crisis in Haiti Is Imperialist-Made<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In 1791 the enslaved people of Haiti carried out the first successful slave revolution and in 1804 established the first Black Republic in the Western Hemisphere. Haitians have had to pay in cash for their freedom from enslavement and subsequent independence; the imperialist powers and the local and foreign oligarchs have all benefited from this immoral, ridiculous and treacherous policy.<\/p>\n<p>Since the establishment of the Republic of Haiti, the response from the colonialists and international imperialism has been to punish Haiti and crush the revolution and its original goals of a just and equitable society and self-determination. Haiti\u2019s woes were not over as the country suffered two U.S.-orchestrated and executed military coups against democratically elected President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, first in 1991 and again in 2004.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-48059 td-animation-stack-type0-2\" src=\"https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-11.jpeg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-11.jpeg 474w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-11-300x172.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-11-150x86.jpeg 150w\" alt=\"\" width=\"474\" height=\"271\" \/><figcaption><strong>Jean-Bertrand Aristide [Source: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dunia.tempo.co\/read\/312501\/jean-bertrand-aristide-segera-kembali-ke-haiti\" >dunio.tempo.co<\/a>]<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>U.S. Imperialism\u2019s Attempt to \u201cDestroy\u201d Haiti<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Haiti\u2019s attempt both to feed itself and improve the social conditions of its citizens were directly thwarted by the United States government by flooding Haiti with rice grown by U.S.-subsidized farmers and sold much cheaper than that locally produced.<\/p>\n<p>The Canada-Haiti Information Project has reported that \u201csince 1995 the U.S. has given over $13 billion in subsidies to American rice farmers\u2026That keeps the price of American rice exported to Haiti significantly lower than rice produced by Haitian farmers.\u201d This arrangement puts the local farmers at a great disadvantage because they cannot compete with such an unfair and disproportionate arrangement and eventually forces many of them out of business.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-48060 td-animation-stack-type0-2\" src=\"https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-12.jpeg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-12.jpeg 620w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-12-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/covertactionmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/word-image-48047-12-150x100.jpeg 150w\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" \/><figcaption><strong>Haitian rice farmer. [Source: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/pin\/haitian-rice-farmers-learn-to-yield-more-produce--477592735457953685\/\" >pinterest.com<\/a>]<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Haitian parliament made an attempt to raise the standard of living for the citizens by raising the minimum wage to $5 per day; the United States on behalf of the textile companies intervened and had the bill blocked.<\/p>\n<p>Haiti was part of the PetroCaribe Agreement that was set up in 2005 by Venezuela under late President Hugo Ch\u00e1vez. The Agreement in part offered affordable prices on petroleum products and to promote socio-economic development by eliminating inequality and improving the quality of life in the partner countries. The illegal and immoral sanctions imposed on Venezuela prevented Haiti from participating in the program and receiving affordable petroleum products, hence the increase and scarcity of fuel in the country.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What Is to Be Done<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The current social crisis in Haiti has extraordinarily little to do with \u201cgangs\u201d but is a result of machinations carried out by the Core Group led by the United States and their allies: Canada, France, the European Union (EU) and the lackey Organization of American States (OAS).<\/p>\n<p>The citizens of Haiti have taken to the streets across the country to protest their frustration against economic misery: food insecurity; increasing inflation; high fuel prices and shortage; and an end to foreign interference and intervention in the internal affairs of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, the protesters are demanding the resignation of acting President Ariel Henry, who they say is incapable of addressing the socio-economic issues and bringing peace and stability to the country.<\/p>\n<p>In order for Haiti to begin the long and arduous road to recovery the following needs to be done:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The United States and its allies\u2014especially Canada, France and Britain\u2014must immediately stop interfering in the internal affairs of Haiti.<\/li>\n<li>There must be NO military intervention, UN or otherwise.<\/li>\n<li>There must be NO support for foreign intervention in Haiti, disguised as \u201cassistance\u201d by organizations such as the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Organization of American States (OAS), the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), or the African Union (AU).<\/li>\n<li>The United States and its allies must stop supporting a repressive, corrupt and illegitimate regime represented by Ariel Henry and the local oligarchy.<\/li>\n<li>Progressive forces, internationally and within the African diaspora especially, must demonstrate solidarity with the people of Haiti by engaging their respective elected officials and participatory social action to thwart any impending military action and allow the people of Haiti to solve their own problems, in their own way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>___________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Richard-S.-Dunn.png\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-223759 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Richard-S.-Dunn-e1668316219961.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"139\" \/><\/a>Richard S.
