24 Feb 2023 – <\/em>In an article published last week titled \u201cUS working with \u2018Five Eyes\u2019 nations, Japan on information warfare<\/a>,\u201d a publication on military intelligence and communications technology called C4ISRNET reports that the US and its allies are collaborating \u201cto share and sharpen information-warfare techniques in the Indo-Pacific\u201d with the goal of \u201ccountering\u201d the \u201cincreasingly aggressive China.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s an excerpt:<\/p>\n

Dialogues and exchanges of best practices are ongoing with Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the U.K. and other countries including Japan, according to\u00a0Vice Adm. Kelly Aeschbach<\/a>, commander of Naval Information Forces.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI want to say we have at least a dozen countries or so that are either establishing information warfare programs, or are interested in partnering further in the information warfare realm,\u201d she said Feb. 15 at the West 2023 conference in San Diego. \u201cWe are leaning in there, we are focused.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Japan, specifically, has expressed significant interest in information warfare, \u201cin a really positive way,\u201d Aeschbach told C4ISRNET. Japan and Australia, among others, are considered critical U.S. allies in the Indo-Pacific, a region national security officials\u00a0are invested in<\/a>\u00a0as they seek to counter an increasingly aggressive China.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
