Ellsberg gained his freedom only after gross prosecutorial misconduct was revealed.<\/p>\n<p>In his later years, Ellsberg continued to speak out against injustices and supported a new generation of whistleblowers such as Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning.<\/p>\n<p>He was also a fearless advocate for\u00a0<em>WikiLeaks<\/em>\u00a0publisher Julian Assange as he battles against his own Espionage Act case.<\/p>\n<p>Dan was a friend of\u00a0<strong><em>Consortium News,\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>served on our board and appeared on many of our <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/m.youtube.com\/@consortiumnews8744\/search?query=Ellsberg\" ><strong>CN Live!<\/strong> webcasts<\/a>.
