9 Aug 1945\u00a0 –\u00a0 9 Aug 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our faith in government, once based on trust
\nHas now irrevocably turned to rust.
\nOh yes, there are a few whose loyalty us is true.
\nBut countless others felt the need
\nTo attach themselves to corporate greed.<\/p>\n

You think the president calls the shots?
\nThen it\u2019s you who don\u2019t connect the dots.
\nThe corporate elite, that one percent
\nHave directed all the laws to be bent
\nIn their favor, against us all,
\nWho, in their view, should be made to crawl.<\/p>\n

Some kids, they now say, are now illegal
\nAnd must be chased by a trained beagle.
\nYet all of us are really human
\nExcept perhaps for Harry Truman
\nWho authorized those awful bombs
\nTo fall on old folks, kids, and moms
\nWho had nothing at all to do with war
\nYet paid the price to even the score.<\/p>\n

Today as well, his kind survive
\nTo make pesticides that kill the hives
\nOf our friends the friendly \u00a0bees
\nAnd devastate majestic trees.<\/p>\n

I could go on with this tirade
\nConcerning all the crimes they made:
\nThe false flag events that place the blame
\nOn others, that they wrongly claim
\nSo many times to promote their wars.
\nInstead, they could have opened doors
\nTo honor, truth, justice, and peace
\nAnd from misery deliver true release.<\/p>\n

So now it is our turn to find a way
\nTo liberate ourselves and make them pay
\nFor all the devastation they have done.
\nShall we count them all, one by one?
\nShattered economy, wars, and bankrupt folk,
\nTo them it seems some kind of joke.<\/p>\n

So now what is it that we must do
\nTo free ourselves from their sticky glue
\nThat binds us to their exploitation
\nOf us and Nature\u2019s great creation?<\/p>\n

I have some answers and so do you.
\nTogether we can see this through,
\nTaking inspiration from words so true.
\nLegitimate government for me and you
\nIs consent of us, the governed,
\nWhether red, green, white, or blue<\/p>\n

Any trust we once had
\nAnd to say it \u00a0is so very sad,
\nHas all been vaporized like those
\nWhose lives were taken far away
\nOn that unspeakable and horrid day.<\/p>\n

Like the Founding Fathers of before,
\nIt is our turn to discover the core
\nOf a new say, so precious and bold,
\nAnd reject this system \u00a0cruel and cold.<\/p>\n
