29 Aug 2023 – <\/em>Directed Energy Weapons (DEW)<\/strong> constitute a buoyant $5.3 billion dollar business (2022)<\/strong> which is slated to increase to $12.9 billon dollars by\u00a02027. This\u00a0profit-driven\u00a0military-industrial\u00a0market is dominated by six \u201cdefense contractors\u201d including Raytheon, Northrup Grunman, BAE Systems (plc), Boeing, Lockheed Martin and L3Harris Technologies.<\/p>\n

According to Raytheon:<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThe development of directed energy (DE) technology is used to counter the drone threat\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There are several sophisticated Directed Energy Weapons technologies: High Energy Laser (Hel), High Power Radio Frequency Weapons,\u00a0Sonic Weapons, Electromagnetic Weapons. (For details see table below entitled Directed Energy Market Highlights<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

While DEWs are largely intended for military use, so-called \u201cnon lethal\u201d and\/or \u201cless lethal\u201d Directed Energy Weapons<\/strong> are also envisaged for so-called \u201cHomeland Security applications\u201d (See table below).<\/p>\n

The evidence suggests that Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) may have been used\u00a0(yet to be fully ascertained) and\u00a0<\/strong>that the acts of destruction were deliberate.<\/p>\n
