{"id":24572,"date":"2013-01-14T12:00:27","date_gmt":"2013-01-14T12:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/?p=24572"},"modified":"2013-01-21T06:45:01","modified_gmt":"2013-01-21T06:45:01","slug":"1st-international-active-nonviolence-film-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/2013\/01\/1st-international-active-nonviolence-film-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"1st International Active Nonviolence Film Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>30 Cities around the World to Take Part<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Some thirty cities in the continents of America, Africa, Europe and Oceania will celebrate the 1<sup>st<\/sup> International Film Festival of Active Nonviolence (FICNOVA in its Spanish acronym).\u00a0 FICNOVA, promoted by the humanist organisation World without Wars and Violence is aiming to create a space of coming together, of free creation committed to the culture of nonviolence.\u00a0 In different cities FICNOVA will be promoted with diverse activities that will culminate in the days between the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> to the 6<sup>th<\/sup> of October, 2013, with showings of selected works.<\/p>\n<p>More than 30 cities and countries have confirmed their participation in the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Active Nonviolence Film Festival: Sydney (Australia), Mexico and Bolivia in America, Nouakchott (Mauritania), Kisumu (Kenya), Yenegoa, Asaba, Calabar, Uyo, Akure, Oshogbo, Abuja, Kano, Bauchi, Jos, Kasina, Zaria, Illori, Owerri, Aba (Nigeria) and Cadia, Castelldefels, Coru\u00f1a, Fuenlabrada, Madrid, M\u00e1laga, Murcia, Sevilla, Valencia, Vigo (Spain ) will celebrate FICNOVA between the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 6<sup>th<\/sup> of October this year, contributing a diverse vision on the possibilities for nonviolence.<\/p>\n<p>The competition is open for entries and has been presented publicly in Spain.\u00a0 In different latitudes film collectives, artists, anti-violence organisations, education centres, universities and institutions are being invited to participate.\u00a0 Local teams are promoting the festival through the organisation of debates, university seminars, active nonviolence video production workshops, film showings\u2026 The activities will converge between the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 6<sup>th<\/sup> of October with the projection of films selected by the different cities.<\/p>\n<p>The organisers said, \u201cWe aspire to create a space for the \u201cactive nonviolence\u201d audio-visual genre, that this genre grows and fills the biggest cinemas, but above all we need people to enter the competition to create and re-create these nonviolent responses, personal commitment, capable of changing the path of personal and social history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>General information about the basis, registration, collaboration and agenda:<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.festivalcinenoviolencia.org\"  target=\"_blank\">www.festivalcinenoviolencia.org<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i> \u00a0<a href=\"mailto:info@festivalcinenoviolencia.org\">info@festivalcinenoviolencia.org<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pressenza.com\/2013\/01\/30-cities-around-the-world-to-take-part-in-the-1st-international-active-nonviolence-film-festival\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+pressenza%2FQrjW+%28News+from+Pressenza+IPA+in+english%29&amp;utm_content=Yahoo!+Mail\" >Go to Original \u2013 pressenza.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>30 Cities around the World to Take Part &#8211;
