1864\u00a0 The\u00a0Treaty of Vienna<\/a>\u00a0is signed, by which Denmark relinquishes one province each to\u00a0Prussia<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Austria<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1905\u00a0 Czar Nicholas II<\/a>\u00a0issues the\u00a0October Manifesto<\/a>, nominally granting the Russian peoples basic civil liberties and the right to form a\u00a0duma<\/a>. (October 17 in the Julian calendar)<\/p>\n
