What a feast for a dark and twisted place.<br \/>\nToday, when to speak against the specter of death,<br \/>\nWe are painted as fanatics, losing our collective breath.<\/p>\n<p>Those who profess to teach the lofty rights of humanity&#8217;s dream,<br \/>\nClaim to bear the torch of international law, it may seem.<br \/>\nNow, they choose to arm those who&#8217;ve shown,<br \/>\nA knack for taking lives at random, with no remorse,<br \/>\nThe fires of hate, colonization and genocide&#8217;s on it course.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s extinguish this fire that engulfs a nation&#8217;s soul,<br \/>\nWhen we kill so efficiently, it&#8217;s the devil&#8217;s own goal.<br \/>\nO! Samaria, lives are lost, just like yours and mine,<br \/>\nInnocent souls trapped in violence&#8217;s endless grind.<\/p>\n<p>How do we fight horror without becoming its face?<br \/>\nLet&#8217;s open a path to a humane embrace.<br \/>\nEh! Perhaps a humanitarian corridor, a glimmer of light,<br \/>\nFor peace brutally removed, why not parley with those who fight?<\/p>\n<p>Judah burns with no consequences, Eh! he is powerful and bold,<br \/>\nWhile the gods and the world, in silence, withhold.<br \/>\nWhen we master the art of killing in God&#8217;s holy name,<br \/>\nHell is just a carnival, a twisted, tragic game.<\/p>\n<p>Taking lives in the name of a god, with unwavering scorn,<br \/>\nLeaves nothing for the devil, who&#8217;s forlorn and worn.<br \/>\nPerhaps he&#8217;s on leave, as the world&#8217;s steeped in sin,<br \/>\nBut every life has value, regardless of the Faith within<\/p>\n<p>Again yes! every child holds worth,<br \/>\nThen, let&#8217;s end this tragedy, extinguish horror&#8217;s hearth.<br \/>\nThe infernal flames of suffering, let&#8217;s quell,<br \/>\nFor all lives matters, in this world where we dwell.<\/p>\n<p><em>____________________________________________<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Rais-Neza_boneza.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-134528\" src=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Rais-Neza_boneza-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Ra\u00efs Neza Boneza is the author of fiction as well as non-fiction, poetry books and articles. He was born in the Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (Former Za\u00efre). He is also an activist and peace practitioner. Ra\u00efs is convener of <\/em><em>the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/\" >TRANSCEND Network for Peace Development Environment<\/a> <em>for<\/em> <em>Central and African Great Lakes and uses his work to promote artistic expressions as a means to deal with conflicts and maintaining mental wellbeing, spiritual growth and healing. He has travelled extensively in Africa and around the world as a lecturer, educator and consultant for various NGOs and institutions.
