{"id":24872,"date":"2013-01-28T12:00:46","date_gmt":"2013-01-28T12:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/?p=24872"},"modified":"2013-01-28T12:44:42","modified_gmt":"2013-01-28T12:44:42","slug":"the-gift","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/2013\/01\/the-gift\/","title":{"rendered":"The Gift"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">My highest wish is happiness,<br \/>\nIt is the gift I give to all,<br \/>\nTo see the smiling faces,<br \/>\nTo catch them before they fall.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To be a clown,<br \/>\nIs like surround sound,<br \/>\nIt spreads a ray of sunshine,<br \/>\nTo all without discrimination,<br \/>\nWithout impatience,<br \/>\nTo see the world as one,<br \/>\nTo inspire and have some fun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I have no enemies,<br \/>\nI have no-one to hate,<br \/>\nTo me there is no nation state,<br \/>\nI see the world as my family,<br \/>\nI just want to bring them home,<br \/>\nInto the warmth of love and kindness,<br \/>\nSo no-one feels alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I see every story,<br \/>\nIn its real glory,<br \/>\nI know the potential of what can be,<br \/>\nI long to set them free,<br \/>\nInto a world of their own making,<br \/>\nInto a world that is no longer breaking into fragments of glass,<br \/>\nShards of misunderstanding,<br \/>\nWhere we see only a fraction of what is true,<br \/>\nWe assume that it is not safe,<br \/>\nThat is the myth,<br \/>\nThat is the spin,<br \/>\nThat disempowers and tries to win.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One truth is that life begins,<br \/>\nWhen we step out of the comfort zone,<br \/>\nThe boundaries of insecurity build walls,<br \/>\nWe are not alone,<br \/>\nAnd when we step out of illusion,<br \/>\nOf misconceptions,<br \/>\nWe realize that there is no fear,<br \/>\nThat there are many tears,<br \/>\nThat are flowing down the rivers of separation,<br \/>\nBut they will reach the headwater,<br \/>\nThey will unite in the end,<br \/>\nThe journey is the experience,<br \/>\nThat life sends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I believe in peace,<br \/>\nI believe in goodness,<br \/>\nI believe in action,<br \/>\nI know that for every cause there is an equal and opposite reaction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">My life is dedicated to principle,<br \/>\nI know the answers are simple,<br \/>\nWhen you throw away judgement,<br \/>\nWhen you throw away hurt,<br \/>\nWhen you throw away hate,<br \/>\nAnd think about what you\u2019ve learned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Under the canopy of respect,<br \/>\nYou will never reject,<br \/>\nThe will of others,<br \/>\nThey must travel their own path,<br \/>\nWe need to learn to laugh,<br \/>\nLife is the comedy,<br \/>\nPerhaps I am the fool,<br \/>\nBut just maybe,<br \/>\nThat\u2019s the school<br \/>\nfor world peace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">___________________________<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Susan Carew is a Rotary Peace Scholar (Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok), a Peace Studies Graduate (La Trobe University, Melbourne) and a World Peace Clown, all rolled into one.
