{"id":250005,"date":"2023-12-18T12:01:27","date_gmt":"2023-12-18T12:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/?p=250005"},"modified":"2025-01-10T15:05:58","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T15:05:58","slug":"west-sabotaged-ukraine-peace-deal-with-russia-admit-zelensky-official-and-germanys-ex-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/2023\/12\/west-sabotaged-ukraine-peace-deal-with-russia-admit-zelensky-official-and-germanys-ex-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"West Sabotaged Ukraine Peace Deal with Russia, Admit Zelensky Official and Germany\u2019s Ex-Leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>4 Dec 2023 &#8211;<em> Russia wanted to sign a peace deal with Ukraine in March 2022, but NATO countries sabotaged it, according to Germany\u2019s former Chancellor Gerhard Schr\u00f6der and the parliamentary faction leader of Zelensky\u2019s political party, Davyd Arakhamia. <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The United States has played a key role in fueling the wars in both Israel-Palestine and Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The US government has sought to <a href=\"https:\/\/geopoliticaleconomy.com\/2023\/10\/28\/us-vote-peace-gaza-un\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">prevent peace in Gaza<\/a>, vetoing <a href=\"https:\/\/geopoliticaleconomy.com\/2023\/10\/22\/us-peace-gaza-israel-genocide\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">resolutions in the UN Security Council<\/a> that call for a ceasefire, while sending weapons to Israel to help it bomb densely populated civilian areas, contributing to the killing of more than 15,000 Palestinians, approximately 70% of whom are women and children.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2022, Washington has done exactly the same in Ukraine, torpedoing peace proposals that Russia had supported.<\/p>\n<p>This has been confirmed by numerous sources, including the former leader of Germany and a top Ukrainian official, as well as Israel\u2019s ex prime minister.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"West sabotaged Ukraine peace deal with Russia, admit Zelensky ally and Germany&#039;s ex leader\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TkpKx6oMN0s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Germany\u2019s former leader says US sabotaged Russia-Ukraine peace talks<\/h3>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">This October, former German Chancellor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.berliner-zeitung.de\/politik-gesellschaft\/gerhard-schroeder-im-exklusiv-interview-was-merkel-2015-gemacht-hat-war-politisch-falsch-li.2151196?utm_medium\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Gerhard Schr\u00f6der explained in an interview<\/a> how he had tried to negotiate peace between Ukraine and Russia in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine\u2019s overtly anti-Russian newspaper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pravda.com.ua\/eng\/news\/2023\/10\/21\/7425106\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Ukrainska Pravda reported<\/a> on his bombshell remarks.<\/p>\n<p>Moscow had a concrete peace plan laid out, according to Schr\u00f6der. It was based on five points: \u201cUkraine\u2019s rejection of NATO membership, two official languages in Ukraine, Donbas autonomy, security guarantees for Ukraine, and negotiations on the status of Crimea\u201d, Ukrainska Pravda wrote.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">But the former German leader said the United States sabotaged the peace talks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only people who could resolve the war over Ukraine are the Americans\u201d, Schr\u00f6der emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the peace talks in March 2022 in Istanbul with [Ukraine\u2019s Defense Minister] Rustem Umierov, Ukrainians did not agree to peace because they were not allowed to. They had to coordinate everything they talked about with the Americans first\u201d, he recalled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, nothing eventually happened. My impression is that nothing could happen because everything else was decided in Washington. It was fatal\u201d, Schr\u00f6der added.<\/p>\n<p>The former German head of state likewise warned that Russia will never accept NATO expansion into Ukraine and Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegardless of who is in power, there is a belief in Russia that the West wants to expand further with NATO, namely into the post-Soviet area. Keywords: Georgia and Ukraine. No one at the head of Russia will allow this to happen. This danger analysis may be emotional, but it is real for Russia. Arakhamia is the parliamentary faction leader of the political party of Ukraine\u2019s Western-backed President Volydmyr Zelensky.<\/p>\n<p>This <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pravda.com.ua\/eng\/news\/2023\/11\/24\/7430282\/\" >interview was also reported<\/a> on by Ukraine\u2019s vehemently anti-Russian newspaper Ukrainska Pravda.<\/p>\n<p>Arakhamia represented Ukraine in the peace talks with Russia <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.com.tr\/en\/analysis\/analysis-most-meaningful-progress-in-russia-ukraine-negotiations-istanbul-meeting\/2550419\" >in T\u00fcrkiye in March 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">At those negotiations, Arakhamia admitted that Russia did indeed want peace, and neutrality \u201cwas the most important thing for them\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">\u201cThey [the Russians] were prepared to end the war if we agreed to \u2013 as Finland once did \u2013 neutrality, and committed that we would not join NATO\u201d, the top Ukrainian official said, according to a translation by Ukrainska Pravda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey really hoped almost to the last moment that they would force us to sign such an agreement so that we would take neutrality\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n<p>But Ukraine\u2019s Western sponsors were adamantly opposed to the peace proposal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we returned from Istanbul, [British Prime Minister] Boris Johnson came to Kyiv and said that we would not sign anything with them at all, and let\u2019s just fight\u201d, Arakhamia recalled.<\/p>\n<h3>Israel\u2019s ex PM says US killed Ukraine peace deal<\/h3>\n<p>These important testimonies from Germany\u2019s former leader and a top Ukrainian official both echo an <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/geopoliticaleconomy.com\/2023\/02\/10\/ukraine-zelensky-minsk-peace-russia\/\" >admission made by Israel\u2019s former prime minister<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Israel\u2019s ex Prime Minister Naftali Bennett explained in a February 2023 interview how he had been a mediator between Ukraine and Russia the year before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnything I did was coordinated down to the last detail with the US, Germany, and France\u201d, Bennett said.
