Waving The Torah, the five books out of sixty-six to this august, gullible, minstrel-like, body at the United Nations might have had a different effect. Israeli Jews do not accept 95% of The Bible -The New Testament.

The title is a quote from Jesus to Jewish people found in The Bible, John 8:44. The full verse reads: “You (Jews) are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Well, I don’t think many Jewish people would take kindly to these comments from Jesus.

Israeli Jews reject The Bible, as a whole; they accept only The Torah, the first five books authored by Moses – the Egyptian, the African, now that’s quite another story (See Sigmund Freud, Moses and Monotheism); Freud’s first chapter is entitled “Moses an Egyptian” (I don’t know if Freud knew that I know that Egypt is in Africa). Knowledge of this fact forces another concern and observation. Moses an Egyptian-African, in the Biblical book of Exodus, did not lead European Jews (White people) out of Egypt, yet those immigrating to historic Palestine since 1915 and certainly since 1948, have been exclusively European Jews. This doesn’t make sense. Well, of course the little punkish fellow with the funny mustache learned of this and it created a little pause in his plans for Aryan (White) so-called supremacy.

Still, this Egyptian/African Moses, is the man to whom an immaterial, invisible, spiritual being dictated or narrated – the Pentateuch, the first five books, sometimes the first six, or Hexateuch (including the Book of Joseph). In other words, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The Bible is a collection of 66 books: do the math and think about Danny Danon, obviously a Zionist who rejects 66 books of The Holy Bible he’s holding up. As my dear son, Shegun Toure would say, “Make it make sense.”

Waving it as if it is proof, evidence, a deed to land, and Israeli Jews’ right to all of historic Palestine. The Bible (The first five books out of sixty-six) is now a real estate document and an invisible, spiritual being (Jahve) a real estate agent. The messenger, (UN Rep) Danny Danon, like other Jews, rejects 95% of the evidence he’s holding up. And the rest, The Torah, fits nicely into the views of the renown Jewish scholar and thinker, Sigmund Freud: “The religions of mankind (including Jadism and Christianity and Islam) must be classed among the mass-delusions of this kind. No one, needless to say, who shares a delusion ever recognizes it as such.” So, according to Doctor of Philosophy and Neuroscience, Sam Harris in his book The End of Faith: “Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason’: “35 percent of Americans believe that the Bible is the literal and inerrant word of the Creator of the universe. Another 48 percent believe that it is the ‘inspired’ word of the same” (Harris, 17). And, yes, a survey of Hindus, Muslims, and Jews around the world would surely yield similar results. Too many people, globally, have been told what to think not how to think.

Israeli Jews do not accept Jesus as the Messiah. In fact, they are wasting money building a monument in anticipation of “their” messiah. There’s a sort of madness, a certain delusion, here. Well, I’ve often thought, like Ian McKellen, that the Bible should have a disclaimer at the front saying, “This is fiction.” Talking snakes? An Ark in the Middle East, filled with every species of animal – literally? And, where in Palestine would Noah get penguins and polar bears? And are his descendants still waiting on that very slow-moving Sloth to arrive from South America? Then there’s the absurd idea of stopping the world from spinning on its axis to give the Jews more time to slaughter their “enemies”? A child born of a virgin – literally? I mean, walking on water -literally? A murdered “savior” – resurrected from the dead, literally?

Basically, I’m suggesting that myths and folklore (religion), cannot be the basis of decisions made by, of all places, the United Nations, or foreign policy of any country in the modern world. Otherwise, other “sacred texts” are eligible as accurate and reliable historical or legal documents, all claiming to be authored by a God, or inspired by the same; for example: The Glorious Quran, The Bhagavad-Gita, The Upanishads, The Lotus Sutra, The Wisdom of Native Americans, The Adi Granth, The Akan Doctrine of God, etc. Of course, there are profound, deep truths in all these texts; wonderful, exciting stories, allegories and parables with significant meaning and guides to a moral ethical life. But, they are just that, stories. Yet, people who take these texts literally as opposed to metaphorically are probably, mostly, good people, kind people, they are just foolish, they have not been seriously and honestly educated. My concern is not a condemnation but rather for an understanding of these texts, their origins in human authorship and achievement.

Finally, and most importantly, we must preserve the Separation of Church and State. To introduce myth and folklore, fiction and religious text, as verifiable legal evidence, in matters as grand as determining the rightful heirs of a country, considering the Palestine/Israeli crisis, is the height of colonial justification. “God the real estate broker gave us this land’: Israel, America, Australian, New Zeeland, South Africa, India, — THE WORLD!!! “Full spectrum dominance.”

Chris Hedges in his book American Fascists: “The Christian Right and the War on America” illuminates and punctuates the central concerns of this article: “The movements (American Evangelicals and Christian Zionists) call to dismantle the wall between church and state and the intolerance it preaches against all who do not conform to its warped vision of a Christian America are pumped into tens millions of American homes through Christian television and radio stations, as well as reinforced through the curriculum in Christian schools. The movement’s yearning for apocalyptic violence and its assault on dispassionate, intellectual inquiry are laying the foundations for a new, frightening America.”

Noam Chomsky says of this movement that “elements of the Christian fundamentalists right are one of the strongest components of ‘support of Israel’– support in an odd sense, because they presumably want to see it destroyed in a cosmic battle of Armageddon, after which all the proper souls will ascend to heaven.” This is absolute madness and total insanity. And such beliefs are controlling America from top to bottom; from POTUS to SCOTUS, from university to grammar school. Americans are being told what to think, not how to think.

One reason China is kicking America’s butt, up and down and sideways, in practically every area of human achievement is that it doesn’t have (may not even permit) this sort of religious based mythology of Armageddon or apocalyptic, global destruction to block its vision of a bright, promising, prosperous future. It is not in the grip of religious fanatics and zealots with an end-of-life philosophy. It is proving that people, that nations can be good without God or religion. They don’t believe absurdities like a man dead for over 2,000 years will be resurrected and return to life. This is, clearly, the height of unreason and irrationality. Even Martin Luther King understood “resurrection” as metaphor.

And, to insert Voltaire here, “People who believe absurdities will commit atrocities.” The U.S Defense (War) Department has built “Doomsday Machines” to facilitate their twisted, infantile, apocalyptic, vision and worldview.

I truly appreciate Lorraine Hansberry’s classic play (1959) A Raisin in the Sun. I especially love the dialogue between the mother, Lena, and her daughter, Beneatha.

Beneatha: “I’m going to medical school.”
Lena: “You’ll be a doctor…God willing.”
Beneatha: “God doesn’t have anything to do with it…You don’t understand. It’s just a matter of ideas and God is just one I don’t accept… I simply get tired of Him getting credit for what human beings achieve through their own stubborn effort.”

________________________________________

Fritz Pointer is a retired professor of English and African American Studies. He is the vice president of Democratic World Federalists and has published numerous scholarly articles such as African Oral Epic Poetry: Praising the Deeds of a Mythic Hero (2013). Being the older brother of the popularly known singing group, The Pointer Sisters, he has co-authored Fairytale: the Pointer Sisters’ Family History. Pointer’s main interests include combating racism, advancing human rights, ending war, eliminating nuclear weapons, and nonviolent solutions to global problems.

9 Jan 2024 – The Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon is a perfect representative example of Jesus’ words. – “a liar and father of lies.” To raise The Holy Bible to assert Jewish peoples’ right to Palestine is arrogantly offensive, insulting, abhorrent, and a shameless demonstration of hypocrisy, deception, and flagrant dishonesty.

[54
1926,865,88,427,107
post-252414","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-palestine-israel-gaza-genocide","tag-bible","tag-genocide","tag-israel","tag-palestine","tag-religion
["GET
