{"id":254170,"date":"2024-02-12T12:01:24","date_gmt":"2024-02-12T12:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/?p=254170"},"modified":"2024-02-11T06:55:43","modified_gmt":"2024-02-11T06:55:43","slug":"grim-milestone-over-100000-killed-wounded-missing-in-gaza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/2024\/02\/grim-milestone-over-100000-killed-wounded-missing-in-gaza\/","title":{"rendered":"Grim Milestone: Over 100,000 Killed, Wounded, Missing in Gaza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>3 Feb 2024<\/em> &#8211; More than 100,000 Palestinians are either dead, injured, or missing and presumed dead in the besieged Gaza Strip, the World Health Organization (WHO) has announced.<\/p>\n<p>This follows more than three months of intense Israeli bombardment of the enclave, with Gaza\u2019s Ministry of Health confirming a total of 27,131 Palestinians killed, and 66,287 wounded in Israel\u2019s ongoing genocide in Gaza starting on October 7.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, \u201cthe risk of famine is high and increasing each day,\u201d the WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Ghebreyesus said the agency\u2019s teams on the ground report \u201cincreasing food shortages for medical staff and patients with only one meal per day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The WHO chief stressed, \u201cWe continue to call for safe access for humanitarian personnel and supplies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the organization has faced \u201cgreat difficulty\u201d in trying to reach hospitals in southern Gaza, with heavy fighting reported near hospitals in Khan Yunis, \u201cseverely impairing access to health facilities, for patients, health workers and supplies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During a UN mission on Monday, the WHO delivered medical supplies to Nasser Medical Complex.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Read every single name.
