Galtung"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/johan-galtung-1.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-255297\" src=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/tms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/johan-galtung-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A friend, a father, a mentor to many,<br \/>\nHis wisdom transcended, like a beacon, so plenty.<br \/>\nAs the founding father of Peace studies,<br \/>\nHe nurtured minds, spreading love and unity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The founder of Peace sciences, his legacy grand,<br \/>\nA guiding light for those who seek to understand.<br \/>\nOh, what a gift to the world he did bestow,<br \/>\nYet, politicians and diplomats failed to truly know.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Sadness fills our hearts as we bid him adieu,<br \/>\nFor the loss of such a soul, we deeply rue.<br \/>\nDrawing from the Gandhian way , his name shall forever stand,<br \/>\nIn the annals of history, a true peacemaker, so grand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Though the Nobel Peace Prize eluded his grasp,<br \/>\nHis noble works shall forever clasp,<br \/>\nNo prophet is hailed in their native domain,<br \/>\nAn irony of fate, where recognition wanes<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Through! The essence of peace, love, and harmony,<br \/>\nEchoing through generations, an everlasting symphony.<br \/>\nTo his family, friends, and students worldwide,<br \/>\nI share and extend our heartfelt consolation, far and wide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">May his noble soul find eternal power,<br \/>\nIn the beyond, where sorrows cease.<br \/>\nAdieu! He was born in the Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (Former Za\u00efre). He is also an activist and peace practitioner. Ra\u00efs is convener of <\/em><em>the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transcend.org\/\" >TRANSCEND Network for Peace Development Environment<\/a> <em>for<\/em> <em>Central and African Great Lakes and uses his work to promote artistic expressions as a means to deal with conflicts and maintaining mental wellbeing, spiritual growth and healing. He has travelled extensively in Africa and around the world as a lecturer, educator and consultant for various NGOs and institutions. His work is premised on art, healing, solidarity, peace, conflict transformation and human dignity issues. Ra\u00efs work also as freelance journalist based in Trondheim, Norway.
