That President Obama can sign off on a decision to kill us with less worry about judicial scrutiny than if the target is an American? Would your Supreme Court really want to tell humankind that we, like the slave Dred Scott in the 19th century, are not as human as you are? I cannot believe it.<\/p>\n<p>I used to say of apartheid that it dehumanized its perpetrators as much as, if not more than, its victims. Your response as a society to Osama bin Laden and his followers threatens to undermine your moral standards and your humanity.<\/p>\n<p><i>_______________________<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Desmond Mpilo Tutu is a South African activist and retired Anglican bishop who rose to worldwide fame during the 1980s as an opponent of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apartheid_in_South_Africa\" title=\"Apartheid in South Africa\" >apartheid<\/a>. Tutu has been active in the defense of human rights and uses his high profile to campaign for the oppressed. He has campaigned to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, poverty, racism, sexism, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Homophobia\" title=\"Homophobia\" >homophobia<\/a>, and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Transphobia\" title=\"Transphobia\" >transphobia<\/a>. Tutu received the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nobel_Peace_Prize\" title=\"Nobel Peace Prize\" >Nobel Peace Prize<\/a> in 1984; the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Albert_Schweitzer_Prize_for_Humanitarianism\" title=\"Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism\" >Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism<\/a> in 1986; the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pacem_in_Terris_Award\" title=\"Pacem in Terris Award\" >Pacem in Terris Award<\/a> in 1987; the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sydney_Peace_Prize\" title=\"Sydney Peace Prize\" >Sydney Peace Prize<\/a> in 1999; the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gandhi_Peace_Prize\" title=\"Gandhi Peace Prize\" >Gandhi Peace Prize<\/a> in 2005;<sup><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Desmond_Tutu#cite_note-0\" >[1]<\/a><\/sup> and the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Presidential_Medal_of_Freedom\" title=\"Presidential Medal of Freedom\" >Presidential Medal of Freedom<\/a> in 2009.
