The Israeli government has unanimously voted to sanction the Israeli newspaper <\/span><span class=\"yt-core-attributed-string--link-inherit-color yt-core-attributed-string--italicized\" dir=\"auto\"><em>Haaretz<\/em>, claiming that its editorials &#8220;<em>have hurt the legitimacy of the state of Israel and its right to self defense.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"yt-core-attributed-string--link-inherit-color\" dir=\"auto\"> This comes just months after Israel banned <em>Al Jazeera<\/em>. He was the recipient of the Euro-Med Journalist Prize for 2008; the Leipzig Freedom Prize in 2001; the Israeli Journalists\u2019 Union Prize in 1997; and The Association of Human Rights in Israel Award for 1996.
