3 Jan 2025 <\/em>–\u00a0 Some 1,000 children have had limbs amputated without anesthesia in the Gaza Strip since Israel began its brutal bombing campaign on 7 October, the United Nations Children\u2019s Fund (UNICEF) has said.<\/p>\n

It added that allowing the continued shelling of Gaza means green-lighting the killing of more children.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has previously stated that nearly 70 per cent of the casualties of the aggression were children and women.<\/p>\n

The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has surged to 20,674, the Health Ministry in the territory said yesterday.<\/p>\n

Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra also said that 54,536 people had been injured in the months-long offensive.<\/p>\n

The Israeli onslaught has left Gaza in ruins, with half of the coastal territory\u2019s housing damaged or destroyed and nearly 2 million people displaced within the densely populated enclave amid acute shortages of food and clean water.<\/p>\n
