We get that calculation from IMF <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imf.org\/en\/About\/executive-board\/members-quotas\" >data<\/a> on voting power in the organisation relative to the population of the Global North and Global South states. Each country, based on its \u2018relative economic position\u2019, as the IMF <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imf.org\/en\/About\/Factsheets\/Sheets\/2022\/How-the-IMF-makes-decisions\" >suggests<\/a>, is given voting rights to elect delegates to the IMF\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imf.org\/en\/About\/executive-board\/eds-voting-power\" >executive board<\/a>, which makes all of the organisation\u2019s important decisions.
