\nWe are grateful for those who resist and remain,
\nWho struggle through genocide, bearing the pain.
\nFor doctors in Gaza who heal night and day,
\nRisking their lives so that others may stay.
\nFor journalists daring to tell what is true,
\nTwo hundred and fifty struck down as they do.
\nFor martyrs whose courage still kindles the flame,
\nFor survivors who rise and give hope with their name.
\nFor friends in the city refusing to flee,
\nFor millions who march, for the jailed yet free.
\nFor hearts that stay open, for minds that will fight,
\nFor Hind Rajab\u2019s voice that was honored that night.

\nWe are grateful for meetings that circle the earth,
\nFor the dream of one country, one land of true worth.
\nFor networks that link us through fifty-plus lands,
\nFor gifts of supporters, their hearts and their hands.
\nFor staff and for volunteers steady and kind,
\nFor children whose questions awaken the mind.
\nFor gardens and museums where memory stays,
\nFor prayers and good wishes that brighten our days.
\nFor animals, plants that remind us we\u2019re one,
\nFor food and for water, for light of the sun.
\nFor friendships enduring, unbroken, and strong,
\nThat carry us forward, that lift us in song.
\n—
\nWe are grateful for tyrants who showed us their face,
\nTheir hatred, their greed, their corruption, their race.
\nFor Trump and for Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir, and the rest,
\nWhose crimes strip the mask, put their lies to the test.
\nFor trials that teach us endurance and care,
\nFor joy in the sorrows we\u2019re chosen to bear.

\nWe are grateful for parents who taught us the way,
\nTo cherish the good, and to not go astray.
\nFor family and friends who still walk by our side,
\nFor ancestors\u2019 struggles, their unbroken stride.
\nFor birth in a land where my soul will remain,
\nPalestine\u2019s soil, through the joy and the pain.
\nThe Fertile Crescent, where rivers still flow,
\nThe cradle of peoples all humanity know.
\nA crossroads of wisdom, of story, of seed,
\nA beacon of justice in humanity\u2019s need.
\nThe wind strips the mask from hypocrisy\u2019s eyes,
\nRevealing the truth and unmasking the lies.<\/p>\n
