\nthe most shocking act is not the lion tamer,
\nbut the clowns in suits, juggling genocide with a smile.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu storms in,
\nhalf the audience bolts for the exits\u2014
\nhis encore?
\nThreatening the entire planet,
\nas if the world was a hotel lobby he could evict at checkout.
\n\u201cWait till I get home,\u201d he growls,
\nlike a dad returning to punish the kids,
\nexcept the kids are\u2026 eight million displaced Palestinians.<\/p>\n

Enter Trump\u2014
\na stand-up comic who doesn\u2019t know he\u2019s the joke.
\n\u201cI am really good at this stuff,\u201d he declares,
\nas the audience stares like pigeons watching a train wreck.
\n\u201cYour countries are going to hell\u2014
\nbut lucky for you, I was right about everything!\u201d
\nCue the laugh track. Cue the sighs. Cue the collective facepalm.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, France and England rehearse their roles\u2014
\nsupport for Palestine!
\n(terms and conditions apply)
\nYes, you may have a state,
\nbut only if your textbooks erase your grandparents,
\nonly if you forget where your villages once stood,
\nonly if resistance is renamed \u201cterrorism.\u201d
\nThink apartheid South Africa,
\nbut this time with better PR and worse Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n

\nback when flip phones were still fashionable.
\nDenied a visa,
\nhe still manages to reassure the very powers
\nholding the knife at his people\u2019s throat:
\n\u201cDon\u2019t worry, we\u2019ll disarm resistance.\u201d
\nTranslation: the fire promises to stop being hot.<\/em><\/p>\n

And so the play continues.
\nEvery actor supports apartheid\u2014
\nthey just disagree on costumes and lighting.<\/p>\n

The shocking part?
\nNot the rhetoric, not the hypocrisy,
\nbut the endless monologues that save no one.
\nNo speech stops bombs,
\nno applause feeds a child,
\nno resolution rebuilds a home.<\/p>\n

The script needs rewriting.
\nExit the actors. Enter the crowd.
\nBring the boycotts,
\nbring the divestments,
\nbring the sanctions.
\nBecause the only comedy here
\nis thinking words alone will stop a bulldozer.<\/p>\n
