A coordinated, global, nonviolent mobilisation is essential \u2014 not least because nonviolence is the one type of power and language a heavily militarised superpower is least prepared to counter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All power rests on others accepting and carrying out its orders. Even the strongest leader in the world cannot round up criminals or fight wars with his own hands. <em>Power is always dependent <\/em>\u2013 dependent on someone who finds it legitimate, and do the dirty job on the strongman\u2019s order. If young people were not brainwashed to accept warfare, there would be no wars. This is why nonviolence can be extremely effective and make an overarmed country look morally weak. That\u2019s what Gandhi taught the world when using this theory to rid India not of the British as people but of the British Empire\u2019s dominance structure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If politicians will not do any of the proposals below \u2013 and similar ones \u2013 it is a citizens duty to puch them to take concrete step and not just talk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u25c6<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A. Diplomatic Downgrading &amp; Political Signalling<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Diplomatic withdrawal is the fastest, safest way to communicate that the relationship is no longer \u201cbusiness as usual.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Immediate Measures (within a week)<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Recall ambassadors from Washington<\/strong><br \/>\nA peaceful but unmistakable alarm bell signalling a breakdown in trust.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Downgrade relations to charg\u00e9 d\u2019affaires level<\/strong><br \/>\nA visible step that reduces political prestige without escalating conflict.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Suspend bilateral strategic dialogues<\/strong><br \/>\nEnergy, security, and trade talks are paused to signal deep concern.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Coordinated walkouts in NATO, UN, OECD\u00a0\u2013 and No more invitations to world Economic Forum<\/strong><br \/>\nA symbolic but powerful way to delegitimise unilateral behaviour.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Longer-Term Measures<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Lawful Order Contact Group<\/strong><br \/>\nA coalition of states committed to international law, excluding the U.S. if necessary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Block U.S. candidates for leadership roles<\/strong><br \/>\nA peaceful way to limit influence in multilateral institutions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Refuse joint communiqu\u00e9s<\/strong><br \/>\nEnsures the U.S. cannot claim consensus where none exists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Public archive of violations<\/strong><br \/>\nA permanent record documenting breaches of international law.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Begin re-orienting the foreign policy everywhere<\/strong><br \/>\nEuropean and other countries step by step reduce their blind following of the US and open up, big and small, to the rest of the world and to the emerging multipolar world \u2013 also to reduce their own crisis, the day the US Empire is finally gone.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>B. International Law, Treaties &amp; Normative Pressure<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The law is the world\u2019s nonviolent weapon; using it consistently can delegitimise unlawful behaviour.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Immediate Measures (within a week)<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Invoke UN Charter mechanisms<\/strong><br \/>\nEmergency UNGA sessions under \u201cUniting for Peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>File formal diplomatic protests<\/strong><br \/>\nCiting specific treaty violations and Arctic governance norms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Request an ICJ advisory opinion<\/strong><br \/>\nClarifying Greenland\u2019s status under international law.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Elevate Indigenous Greenlandic voices<\/strong><br \/>\nEnsuring those most affected speak in UN and Arctic forums.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Refuse to join Trump\u2019s \u201cPeace\u201d Board<\/strong><br \/>\nSaying no to his bizarre idea of replacing the UN with an institution run by himself and a successor appointed by him. This board has nothing to do with peace and everything to do with Trump.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Raise the option of impeaching Trump worldwide<\/strong><br \/>\nHis violations of international law and legimising domestic state violence justifies such a move.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Longer-Term Measures<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>New Arctic demilitarization treaty<\/strong><br \/>\nA structural safeguard against unilateral military moves and enable peaceful cooperation and sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Strengthen UNDRIP-based protections<\/strong><br \/>\nEmbedding Greenlandic self-determination in international law. (United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples = UNDRIP.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>National laws against recognizing forced territorial changes<\/strong> <strong>anywhere<\/strong><br \/>\nA legal firewall against coercive annexation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Global legal coalition<\/strong><br \/>\nA network of states defending small nations against big power arrogance and militarist interventionism.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>C. Military &amp; Security Rebalancing (Nonviolent)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Security cooperation is voluntary; suspending it is a peaceful but powerful signal of disapproval.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Immediate Measures (within a week)<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Suspend all joint military exercises<\/strong><br \/>\nA nonviolent way to say: \u201cWe no longer trust your judgment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Freeze NATO modernization projects involving U.S. leadership<\/strong><br \/>\nA pause that signals strategic recalibration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Restrict U.S. military overflight permissions<\/strong><br \/>\nTerritorial access is a privilege, not a right.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Limit U.S. naval port calls<\/strong><br \/>\nA peaceful but visible reduction in military cooperation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Launch national reviews of U.S. base agreements<\/strong><br \/>\nA legal and political reassessment of foreign military presence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cancel the policy of wasting 5% of GDP on weapons<\/strong><br \/>\nIt was a US demand and there is no reason to adhere to it now. Back to decent threat analysis and dialogue with Russia and others.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Longer-Term Measures<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Demand transparency on U.S. nuclear deployments\u00a0and raise the issue of the U.S. withdrawal from Europe<\/strong><br \/>\nA peaceful tool that exposes imbalances of power. Long-range goal: A European Nuclear Weapons Free Zone and common security to Russia, including a mutual Non-Aggression Pact.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Require U.S. forces to pay full environmental and infrastructure costs<\/strong><br \/>\nA fairness measure that reduces dependency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Develop European strategic autonomy<\/strong><br \/>\nBuilding civilian and political capacity to act without U.S. leadership.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Stop military cooperation with the US, first on smaller weapons, and then on <\/strong>the successively larger projects.<br \/>\nEuropean components should not sit in US systems that threaten and bomb around the world. The Military-Industrial-Media-Academic Complex, MIMAC, must be undermined, slowly but surely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Build defensive defence, early warning, conflict resolution and common security \u2013 a kind of European UN<\/strong><br \/>\nTime to scrap deterrence, armament and nukes, all American inventions now outdated as NATO is in existential crisis as a non-peacemaking and offensive nuclear-based alliance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>European Arctic Security Framework<\/strong><br \/>\nA regional approach independent of great-power rivalry. Common security, coexistence and sustainable development \u2013 see forthcoming constructive proposal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>All Nordic countries refuse to host US military bases, personnel and weapons.<\/strong><br \/>\nSweden and Finland start an investigation of strategies for leaving NATO and gaining a new neutrality with common Nordic security. Hosting the US makes the hosting nations complicit in US crimes around the world and increases the risk of being dragged into US conflicts instead of creating trues security.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>D. Symbolic &amp; Normative Actions<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Symbols shape legitimacy; legitimacy shapes power.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Immediate Measures (within a week)<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Parliamentary resolutions condemning attempts to alter Greenland\u2019s status<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>and other US steps, including Gaza and Venezuela<\/strong><br \/>\nA democratic chorus of disapproval.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>European Parliament warning on Arctic sovereignty<\/strong><br \/>\nA unified political signal from the continent: Don\u2019t touch or we will isolate you even more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Public diplomacy campaign<\/strong><br \/>\nExplaining why Greenland matters to global order in contrast to Trump\u2019s personal grabbing it.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Longer-Term Measures<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rename public spaces after Greenlandic leaders<\/strong>. <strong>Change street and square names if American.\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nSymbolic act of both solidarity and refusal of support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Awards for defenders of international law<\/strong> <strong>&amp; peace<\/strong><br \/>\nElevating voices that resist coercion. Developing alternatives to the corrupt Nobel \u201cPeace\u201d Prize.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Global narrative coalition<\/strong><br \/>\nA long-term effort to frame Arctic stewardship as a globally shared responsibility.<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PART 2 SUMMARY<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diplomacy and international law offer powerful nonviolent tools that can be deployed within hours. Immediate actions send shock signals \u2013 \u201cwe find the Trump Regime\u2019s behaviour offensive and unacceptable.\u201d Long-term measures reshape the political environment and reinforce a lawful, cooperative world order.
