That those supposed to protect oppress instead
\nThat violence is peddled as a solution
\nThat young men still take up arms
\nThat trust is exploited for domination
\nThat people think they are what they possess
\nThat inner voices go unnoticed
\nThat there is despair<\/p>\n
I am humbled<\/p>\n
By the courage of those who speak out and are now imprisoned
\nBy those who resist injustice and are persecuted
\nBy those who try to find solutions
\nBy those who build bridges
\nBy those who\u00a0share without being asked
\nBy those who give shelter and comfort
\nBy those who respond to their inner call<\/p>\n

People of all countries torn apart by war
\nPeople displaced and oppressed
\nPeople exploited
\nPeople denied
\nPeople betrayed
\nPeople enslaved
\nPeople unheard<\/p>\n
I am encouraged<\/p>\n
By you who resist fracking and GMOs
\nBy you who refuse to take up arms
\nBy you fearless writers, artists and poets
\nBy you indigenous peoples everywhere
\nBy you who free animals from cages
\nBy you who care for your sick parent or child
\nBy you heroes who stand up for life and freedom<\/p>\n
