The NSA leaker received 1.1 million signatures in a petition that aims to convince its president to grant him asylum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/brazilian-government\/\" >Brazilian government<\/a> had said it required a formal request from <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/topics\/edward-snowden\/\" >Snowden<\/a> to grant asylum.
