14 Aug 2014 – \u201cMundial De Tango\u201d Begins in Capital Buenos Aires<\/em><\/p>\n

The Tango World Championship has turned the streets of Buenos Aires into dance floors which are packed with tango dancers, competing to become the best.<\/p>\n

As festival\u2019s organizers call it \u201cthe world\u2019s biggest tango extravaganza,\u201d most of Buenos Aires has tango fever now.<\/p>\n

The last year\u2019s winner couple took the dance floor first to start the competition, in which 500 couples coming from every corner of the world will be dancing during the 13 days of the festival.<\/p>\n

The neighborhood of Buenos Aires, called La Boca, where Argentina tango was born, will host the passionate tango dancers.<\/p>\n

The city will stage \u201cMilonga nights\u201d marked with mass dancing events.<\/p>\n

Sounds of music, especially the tunes of tango will fill the streets, and plazas of Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n

The championship also offers opportunity to take tango classes and join workshops given by masters of the dance.<\/p>\n

Buenos Aires and tango are nearly synonymous, and tango is an integral part of the city; it is all over Buenos Aires: in cafes, at milongas, and by walking around the city’s authentic neighborhoods.<\/p>\n

The history of the Argentine Tango is part of the grand history of Buenos Aires, and the event has made the city a center of attention for thousands of tourists.<\/p>\n

In 2009, tango was recognized by UNESCO as an \u201cIntangible Cultural Heritage.”<\/p>\n
