With this award we want to honour people and organizations that set an example through their work contributing to reconciliation, human rights, overcoming of racism, sustainable handling of nature and environment as well as to intercultural and inter-religious understanding.<\/p>\n<p><em>Patron of the Bremen Peace Award is Bremen\u2019s Mayor Karoline Linnert.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Award for the Unknown Peace Worker (category A)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This category aims at honouring dedicated individuals and their projects working at the grassroots level without much public attention or recognition, with special focus on unconventional initiatives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award for Exemplary Organizations (category B)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this category awards will be given to initiatives or organizations that do exemplary work in their fields of activity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award for Public Engagement (category C)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This category honours renowned public figures that persistently and courageously contribute to the goals of the Schwelle Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Awards will be given in these three categories to individuals or organizations during a public ceremony at the Bremen Town Hall. The awards are endowed with a total amount of 15,000 Euros, i.e. 5,000 Euros in each category.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals for the Bremen Peace Award should be submitted by third parties or organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Self-nominations will not be accepted.<\/p>\n<p><em>Proposals must contain the following information:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2022\u00a0brief description of the individual\/organization submitting a proposal;<\/em><br \/>\n<em> \u2022\u00a0full name and address (including email) of suggested person\/organization, website and name of contact person in organizations;<\/em><br \/>\n<em> \u2022\u00a0reasons for the proposal (not more than 3 pages);<\/em><br \/>\n<em> \u2022\u00a0information regarding previously received awards, if any.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you wish to submit additional information, please enclose them as annex.
