One time, his astrologer predicted nice weather. The king went hunting with his friends but they all got drenched wet. Louis XI was enraged, summoned the astrologer before his throne and asked if he could predict when he would die.<\/p>\n<p>He expected the astrologer to announce some date, and then he would tell him, &#8220;You are wrong again, your last hour has arrived,&#8221; and have him executed.<\/p>\n<p>The astrologer, however, sensing he was in trouble, answered, &#8220;What a coincidence that you ask me this. Just last night I gazed at the stars to study that question. I could not figure out the exact date, but I found that your fate and mine are linked in a strange way. I will die exactly 24 hours before Your Majesty.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The king was not sure whether the astrologer was right or making up a story to save his skin, but he would not take a chance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>King Louis XI of France was superstitious.
