As <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ecowatch.com\/2015\/06\/02\/india-heat-wave-climate-change\/\" >we previously\u00a0reported<\/a>, officials have blamed the heat on global warming.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just another unusually hot summer\u2014it is <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ecowatch.com\/climate-change-news\/\" >climate change<\/a>,\u201d said Dr. Harsh Vardhan, India\u2019s Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences. \u201cLet us not fool ourselves that there is no connection between the unusual number of deaths from the ongoing heatwave and the certainty of another failed monsoon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures have neared 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius), causing <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ecowatch.com\/2015\/05\/26\/india-heatwave\/\" >roads to literally melt<\/a> in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/imgur\/status\/603244200180621313\/photo\/1<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Pakistan.<\/strong> India\u2019s neighboring country is also suffering from the horrible heat, with the city of Karachi experiencing temperatures of 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius). According to<em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-asia-33236067\" >BBC News<\/a><\/em>, the weather has led to the deaths of nearly 700 people, mostly poor and elderly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Making matters worse, with Pakistanis observing the holy month of Ramadan and fasting during daylight hours, an <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.scmp.com\/news\/asia\/south-asia\/article\/1824796\/pakistan-heatwave-kills-more-120-karachi-electricity-grid\" >increased use of electricity<\/a> for air conditioning has caused outages on their already-unstable grid.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/AJENews\/status\/613026227167830018\/photo\/1<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> The U.S. Southeast. <\/strong>Over on our shores, temperatures in the American South are about 5-15 degrees higher than usual with temperatures ranging between 100 and 115 degrees Fahrenheit, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/en\/weather-news\/heat-wave-to-continue-in-south\/49106855\" >AccuWeather<\/a> noted.\u00a0Southerners, especially in southern Georgia and Florida, are also sweltering in the extreme humidity (in the upper 60s and 70s), making it feel even hotter, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.weather.com\/forecast\/regional\/news\/southeast-heat-humidity-building-mid-june\" >Weather.com<\/a> reported.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/breakingweather\/status\/613060952406294529\/photo\/1<\/p>\n<p>Those on the West Coast should also brace for extreme heat and wildfires later this month, due to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/en\/weather-news\/heat-wave-west-late-june-july\/48956489\" >shift in the jet stream pattern<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Alaska.<\/strong> Not only are <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ecowatch.com\/2015\/06\/19\/alaska-fires-glaciers-melting\/\" >glaciers rapidly melting<\/a>, the northernmost U.S. state experienced record heat at the end of May where parts of Alaska <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ecowatch.com\/2015\/06\/05\/heat-wave-alaska\/\" >recorded temperatures higher than in Arizona<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Unseasonably high temperatures, unpredictable winds and low humidity have been the perfect storm for wildfires to break out in the state, and as of last Sunday, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.newsminer.com\/news\/local_news\/more-than-new-fires-spring-up-across-alaska-evacuations-south\/article_8193529c-17f3-11e5-b517-a35ebc18c115.html\" >more than 100 new fires<\/a> have ignited\u00a0across the state.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/RedCross\/status\/611203903703482368\/photo\/1<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Israel. <\/strong>Temperatures recently reached 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius) in some parts of the country, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theyeshivaworld.com\/news\/headlines-breaking-stories\/317482\/forest-fire-burns-out-of-control-in-kibbutz-genosar.html\" >causing fires<\/a> to break out.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In the photo below, animals kept in Israeli zoos are being fed frozen treats to help cool off.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/haaretzcom\/status\/603992416706666496\/photo\/1<\/p>\n<p>Last month, a 20-year-old tourist from Florida died after taking a fall while hiking the desert fortress of Masada on one of the hottest days of the year. The scary part? According to the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tbo.com\/ap\/florida-tourist-dies-while-hiking-amid-heatwave-in-israel-20150520\/\" >Associated Press<\/a>, she didn\u2019t die from injuries from the fall, but from dehydration.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> Japan.<\/strong> The East Asian country has been shattering their temperature records. According to the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.weather.com\/news\/climate\/news\/japan-record-april-heat-wave-china\" >Weather Channel<\/a>, in the city of Otsu in Hokkaido, its April high of 89.4 degrees Fahrenheit (31.9 degrees Celsius) smashed the usual high of 50.9 degrees Fahrenheit (10.5 degrees Celsius). And just this month, roughly 780 people across the country were admitted into hospitals due to a heat wave, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/sputniknews.com\/asia\/20150616\/1023411786.html\" >Sputnik<\/a> reported.
