16 Nov 2015 – <\/em>The Paris attacks took place on Friday night. Since then, France\u2019s president has vowed<\/a> \u201cwar\u201d on ISIS and today significantly escalated<\/a>\u00a0the country\u2019s\u00a0bombing campaign in Syria (France has been bombing ISIS in Iraq since last January<\/a>, and began bombing the group\u00a0in Syria<\/a> in September).<\/p>\n

Already this morning, as\u00a0Aaron Cant\u00fa\u00a0noticed<\/a>, the stocks of the leading weapons manufacturers \u2014 what is usually referred to as the \u201cdefense industry\u201d \u2014 have soared:<\/p>\n

Also enjoying a fantastic day so far is one of the leading Surveillance State profiteers<\/a>:<\/p>\n

France\u2019s largest arms manufacturer<\/a>, Thales, is also having an outstanding day, up almost 3 percent, even as the leading French index is down<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Note how immediate the increases are: The markets could barely wait to start buying. The Dow overall is up today only .12 percent<\/a>, making these leaps quite pronounced. Reuters, as published on Fox Business,\u00a0starkly noted the causal connection<\/a>:\u00a0\u201cShares of aerospace and defense rose sharply on Monday in reaction to the attacks in France.\u201d The private-sector industrial prong of the Military and Surveillance State always wins, but especially when the media\u2019s war juices<\/a> start flowing<\/a>.<\/p>\n
